Ra pa'o. In order to fulfill the wishes of impoverished beings, it is shown that even those such as Akashagarbha reside as the essence in the body contemplated by oneself. Thereafter, in accordance, they transform into numerous assemblies of bodies, abiding with hands marked by the mudra of one's own samaya, etc. The nature of the infinite distinctions of the qualities of all Sugatas are also generated without distinction. The phrase 'Vajra, Padma, and Ratna families, etc.' means that the Tathagata, with the mind of enlightenment like a precious jewel, has shown these things in this way. Also, for the beings to be tamed, those who possess attachment, those who possess hatred, those who possess ignorance, and those who possess pride, these are shown as four families as remedies for the four types. As a remedy for those who engage in attachment, Vajrasattva with retinue and a place of perfect abundance is shown. As a remedy for those who engage in hatred, the Vajra family, endowed with fierceness and great power, is shown. As a remedy for those who engage in ignorance, those beings who are arrogant and confused about their own discipline and asceticism, and who delight in strife, the characteristics of the Padma family, the lotus that arises from the mud but is not stained by the faults of the mud, are shown. As a remedy for beings who are rich, powerful, and clinging, etc., the Ratna family, those who are perfect in wealth, is shown. The word 'etc.' includes those that are spoken of as seventeen and one hundred. The phrase 'Because they arise from Vajra, etc., therefore those are arranged' means that because the shapes of those arise from that, therefore they are arranged as individual families. If those families that are spoken of in this way arise from the nature of a single cause, it would be appropriate to speak of them as one, so why are they spoken of separately? Answer: Those families also arise from the essence of the Tathagata, which is the Tathagata family. That which arises from Vajra is the Vajra family. That which arises from Padma is the Padma family. That which arises from Ratna is the Ratna family. Because it is said in this way, they are shown as individual families. Those will also be explained in detail in this tantra.

"The deities of the mandala of... arise from the mind." This means that these are only briefly mentioned in this sadhana. The details are explained in detail in the chapter on the arising of the minds of the four families from within the great root tantra, the glorious Condensed Reality. Similarly, belonging to this tantra means that the arising of the minds of the various families is explained in detail. Similarly, the four mandalas belonging to this root tantra refer to the Vajradhatu mandala, the Trailokyavijaya mandala, the subjugation of beings mandala, and the Sarvarthasiddhi mandala. The deities of these mandalas are the characteristics of the wisdom mind, such as the glorious Vajrasattva. There are two types of mind: the samaya mind and the wisdom mind. The samaya mind is the union with the image of the deity through the intense effort of union, diligence, and the power of one-pointed samadhi. There are also two types of wisdom mind: the mind born from the paramitas and the mind born from wisdom. The mind born from the paramitas is arranged to seek higher levels through the means of the grounds and the paramitas. The mind born from wisdom is the appearance of the principal deity and retinue after realizing the pure bodhicitta. Mahamudra, etc., refers to the completion of the limbs, the samaya mudras of vajra and jewel, etc., the dharma mudra (Sanskrit: Vajra-jñana), and the mantras, the karma mudra of visualizing various vajras in the heart, separating the fingers, etc. These are also explained by quoting these arguments from the content explained in the tantra of the samadhi to be practiced. So, from where is it explained? From the special introduction to the explanation of the tantra, in order to understand the reference, from the teaching of the samadhi for practicing the four great mudras. As it is said, from then on, the Blessed One, the Great Vairocana Buddha, etc., said.
