"One should abide in the pride of the deity" means that even after rising from samadhi, one should maintain the four modes of conduct without deviating from the state of samadhi of one's own deity. The objector says: Since it is said that all mudras should be released and the union with the deity should be abandoned, why is it taught in this way here, is it not contradictory? Reply: Some say that when one wants to release the mudras, one should first briefly recall the initial state of samadhi, and then release the mudras. Generally speaking, the release of mudras is taught in order not to lose accomplishment. Even after the mudras are released, it is reasonable to maintain the yoga of abiding in the nature of the deity at all times in the four modes of conduct, and there is no contradiction here. Sometimes, one also recites the profound and vast sutras, such as the Prajnaparamita Sutra, the Avatamsaka Sutra, or the Samadhiraja Sutra. "Read in the manner of practicing secret mantras" means to read the Mahayana Abhisamayalankara Tantra or the Great Transformation of the Three Realms Victorious Banner, etc. The word "etc." includes making tsatsas, circumambulating, and other virtuous deeds of body and speech. In this way, reciting scriptures and mantras, etc., should also be done with the intention of regarding the Buddhas, etc., as giving the Dharma. To the gods, etc., as well as the nagas, yakshas, gandharvas, asuras, garudas, kinnaras, mahoragas, etc., all humans and non-humans, etc., all those who have seen the Tathagata and received the precepts of the training, and those who have not seen the Tathagata but have joyful faith in the Dharma, should be satisfied by giving the Dharma. For those who belong to the black caste and do not believe in the Dharma, one should also give the blessing of truth by reciting the sutras and mantras, in order to destroy malice and break evil spells. "Sometimes" means that even after releasing the mudras, one should recite as much as possible, and also during other recitations.
