Furthermore, it is as follows: The families of the Buddhas should recite with samadhi. The families of the Tathagatas should recite with vajra words, and these two methods are considered to be non-different. The families of the Vajras should recite only by making sound. Other families should recite only by listening with their ears. This teaching is also a summary of the extensive explanations mentioned above, and should be understood as the words of the doctrine. The difference in the objects of speech for yogis means that the meaning to which the speech refers is the object of the speech, and the difference lies in clarifying their differences. Therefore, it is called "the differences in the objects of speech for yogis," which means that it has been explained, that is, the meaning has been understood. Thus, after explaining how to sit with the body and how to recite with speech, now, in order to explain the method and characteristics of thinking with the mind, it is said, "The difference in mind is also temporarily that of the Tathagatas," and so on. What is it? "Desire and all happiness, always abide in my heart. Alas! The meaning of sentient beings, why does attachment arise even when free from desire?" The meaning of these words is as follows: Desire refers to the objects that are sought and should be obtained, that is, the Bhagavan Vajrasattva and others, because they are the essence of tranquility and all happiness. So, from where should these be sought? "Always abide in one's own heart," because that is the nature of ultimate bodhicitta, the cause of arising relative great compassion, the essence of samadhi with the mind of great wisdom, so it is said, "Abide in one's own heart." So, what is the nature of its qualities? "Alas! The meaning of sentient beings, why does attachment arise even when free from desire?" It means that they perfectly accomplish the benefit of all sentient beings, become the most supreme of all, and even if they are free from all desires of the three realms, they are attached to their benefit with compassion in order to bring happiness to all sentient beings, and thus it is declared.

May you bestow happiness on all sentient beings! I am Vajrasattva himself. If you meditate like this, you will surely attain accomplishment. These are the words. Its meaning is as follows: The desire for Bodhicitta is also accompanied by the meaning of conquering and possessing virtues. In the interval between beginning and end, because the Dharma nature does not change from its original state, it is called eternal. What are its qualities like? "May you bestow happiness on all sentient beings!" It is said that it eliminates all suffering. It has such qualities. What is the real thing? "Vajrasattva is myself." It is said that the great self is Vajrasattva, and that it is related to the self in a non-different way. How are they not different and related? "If you meditate, you will attain accomplishment." As it is said, therefore, it should be understood as related and not different. As for the Vajra family, for the benefit of all sentient beings, to destroy the wicked, and to protect the Buddha's teachings, the accomplishment of the wrathful deity is supreme. These are the words. Its meaning is as follows: Appearing as a wrathful deity is also to benefit those beings who cannot be subdued by peaceful means with a wrathful appearance, to destroy and punish the gatherings of the wicked, and to appear as a wrathful deity in order to make the Tathagata's teachings last long. In this way, the accomplishment of the wrathful deity is supreme among all accomplishments and accomplishers, as it is said. As for the Lotus family, although the lotus is born from mud, it is not defiled by the faults of the mud, just as it appears in the mud. Similarly, although the Tathagata shows birth in samsara, he is not defiled by the faults of samsara. He abides in samsara and accomplishes deeds in a way that is attached to samsara, as he shows. Anyone who does so will attain accomplishment, as he teaches. As for the Ratna family, whenever it is for the sake of accomplishing all the benefits needed by all sentient beings, such precious jewels rain down, and are well cultivated.

Practice will lead to accomplishment. The meaning of these words is as follows: For the benefit of all sentient beings, if one practices well, one can cause a rain of jewels to fall like a wish-fulfilling gem. For the benefit of any beings, if one abides in samadhi, one will accomplish the samadhi that benefits others with a collection of precious qualities. Whosoever practices, will accomplish it in the same way, this is what is taught. The so-called "greatness of reciting the four families of deities" refers to the differences in recitation as taught separately by the teachings of the four families. At the time of practicing in this way, how the yogi should enter into samadhi, this refers to thought, which has already been explained. The so-called Vajra and other families refer to the four types of recitation: Vajra, Jewel, Lotus, and Karma families. The lords of those families, for the most part, should meditate and recite inseparably, just as the differences in the words of recitation are taught, and the body, speech, and mind of one's own samaya-being, as well as the body, speech, and mind of the deity one is practicing, are without difference. The so-called "all families" refers to the complete expression of the aspects of the families. The so-called "condensed distinctions" refers to the clear and separate explanation of the differences in the activities of body, speech, and mind of all families. Thus, at the time of reciting the four families, after explaining the differences in how to contemplate with mantra, now, in order to explain the means of reciting the essence and so forth of the four families, it is said, "The yogi of the Tathagata and other four families, one's own deity, the samaya-being," and so forth. Among these, the so-called Tathagata and other four families refer to the Vajra, Lotus, and Karma families. The so-called "one's own deity, the samaya-being" refers to abiding in the yoga of meditating on the deity in whom one has faith among the four families, without duality. The so-called "in accordance with recitation and meditation" refers to abiding in accordance with the deity one wishes to meditate on and recite. The so-called "skilled in the union of body, speech, and mind" refers to the deity one is meditating on and reciting.
