It is evident that there are such words, because the Tathagata possesses immeasurable and inconceivable speech. Similarly, in other tantras of the Tathagata family, there are also specifically mentioned words for reciting mantras like this, which are distinguished from other words. What is the reason for this? Emitting a sound as deep as a drum, it is said to be of the Tathagata family. The meaning of this is as follows: Just as the sound of a drum is loud, large, and clear, so too, the mudra-holding bodhisattva who practices in this way also recites with a loud, large, and clear voice using the tongue, lips, teeth, palate, etc. This is its characteristic. In this way, for those who mainly practice the supreme joy, in other tantras, the mantra of Vajrasattva, "Hum" (ཧཱུྃ, हूँ, hūṃ, 吽) and so on, is also recited and practiced. Therefore, the characteristics of its words are also proclaimed: The song sung with the nasal voice, with all the songs, is the secret word of supreme joy. The meaning of what is said is this: The words that come from the source of the song, the nasal cavity, are the words of the way to make Vajrasattva supremely joyful. Because it is not common to everyone, nor is it something that ordinary people can know and understand, it is called secret. To add to the reason, it is said: Nasal guidance and so on, with various songs as desired, with the words of Vajra joy, the first singer should sing. What is said is that the song that comes from the nose is called the nasal song. By mentioning the word "guidance," it is also explained that it is also possible to emit and guide from the mouth. The word "etc." can include various types of songs such as Shadzha, Bangadala, and Six Unions. "With various songs as desired" means that with various desired songs, in the way that one likes, with the lyrics that please Vajrasattva, one should start singing with the syllable "Hum" (ཧཱུྃ, हूँ, hūṃ, 吽). The word "first singer" is called lyrics in other tantras, which is inconsistent with the previous one. How is this said? Those first ones such as guidance, after singing the song

It is proclaimed as 'words.' As it is said, if various types of songs such as invocations are recited as they are, then their characteristic is universally proclaimed as 'words of song.' Specifically, it is shown here that the song of Vajrapani is to be recited. The distinction of what the characteristic of the words of recitation is for those who recite from the Vajra family has been explained. Regarding the Padma family, the recitation of the Padma family is: 'Words without breath, extremely subtle, extremely and completely clear, all recitations are accomplished in that way, arising from meditative wisdom.' It is said that in other tantras, the words of soundless meditation are of the Padma family, so it is applied here as well. The recitation of the Ratna family is: 'With extremely clear words, with desire for prostration, the recitation of this ritual, is universally known as the word of sound.' It is said that its meaning is like this: at the beginning of the recitation, and from time to time inserting the letters of prostration, and this ritual should be done with desire, the words should be clear and the pronunciation accurate, and the recitation should be done to the extent that others cannot hear it, this is the recitation of the Ratna family, and this is also widely known as the word of sound. The lords of the Vajra and other families are the Tathagatas, etc. The term 'etc.' includes the Padma family, the Karma family, and if the families are gathered together, it refers to the Tathagatas gathered into the four families. Because they have power over their own families, they are called the lords of the families. Although the recitations of the lords of the Vajra and other families are not explicitly mentioned here, just as the Tathagata is inseparable from and united with the Tathagata family, here too it should be known that the recitations of the lords of one's own family are also included within the words of recitation of one's own family. The distinctions of the deities of each family and the deities of the lords of the families should be understood, and it is shown that the recitation should be done with the words of the family to which one's own deity belongs.
