Until that period, one should remain steadfastly in an unchanging state with focused single-pointed concentration. Having done so, one will accomplish and realize any desired magical powers. As it is said in the tantra: 'Meditate on the great mudra; whatever magical power is desired, in whatever place it is, one should observe it through meditation.' Its meaning is like this: the yogi who wishes to attain the direct perception of magical powers, having placed his body and mind in the state of the great mudra, etc., should manifestly observe the form of whatever magical power he desires through the effort of concentration. It is taught that if one does so until it manifests, one will attain it. Having thus sequentially shown the accomplishment of the five direct perceptions, in order to show another method for accomplishing the knowledge of others' minds, it is said, 'Furthermore, for the purpose of fully knowing the nature of others' minds, there is another practice, as follows,' etc. What is it? It is 'Having bound the great mudra of the Tathagata,' etc. Having placed oneself in the great mudra of any of the five Tathagatas, one should bless in this way: 'May I, with concentration, manifest the nature of the mind of the being whose mind is to be known, in a form corresponding to that nature, as glorious Vajrasattva in my heart or in front of me.' Thus contemplating, one should visualize Vajrasattva appearing either in one's heart or in front of oneself, continuously practicing and especially meditating until Vajrasattva himself fully appears in the form of whatever characteristics, such as the goodness and non-goodness of that being. These are its signs: Vajrasattva appearing as clear as crystal, etc. If Vajrasattva's attire appears as clear as crystal in the yogi's awareness, then at that time one should know that the mind of the being to be examined is pure, without faults such as afflictions that harm oneself and others. Furthermore, at any time

And when all the lotuses and so on appear as the samadhi of glorious Vajrasattva, one should know that his mind and realm are free from all afflictions and near afflictions. Similarly, when the samadhi of Vajrasattva appears in the form of the Manduka flower and so on, one should know that at that time the mind of the other is in a state of attachment. If the samadhi of Vajrasattva appears black in color, then one should know that the mind of that sentient being is angry. As it is said in the tantra: The samadhi abode of Vajrasattva, combined with the color of the moon, how to know its color? The world knows it in the same way. If it is pure, then know that the person is pure, white or very bright, red and black are very attached and angry, whatever the color, that is the master. Its meaning is: one should abide in the great mudra of any Tathagata, and visualize Vajrasattva residing in front of him or in his heart, with the wish that he may truly show me the signs of the mind of that sentient being, and practice yoga for a long time. Whenever glorious Vajrasattva shows what kind of appearance, one should know the mind of the other as it is. So it is said. The so-called Tathagata family, that is, the wisdom heroes such as the glorious Vajrasattva of the Tathagata family, should also perform the same ritual. As it is said in the tantra itself: Equally abiding in the great mudra, combined with the light of the moon mandala, how does one know one's own body? In this way, one knows the mind of beings. Its meaning is: one should equally abide in the realm of the great mudra as any hero such as Vajrasattva of the Tathagata family, and abide on the seat of light and the moon mandala, and visualize any deity in one's heart, or observe one's own body, and abandon it as one wishes. How the deity of one's own body or heart appears, one should truly know the minds of other beings. So it is said.

Similarly, if one wishes to know whether someone is going or coming, this is the practice of wanting to know the minds of others. If, for some reason, one wishes to know the intention of someone leaving or arriving, then one should pray in accordance with this and practice in this way. If one wishes to understand this matter, one should pray that one can understand the mind of such a person, whether they are leaving or arriving. Then, while maintaining a state of equanimity in the Great Seal, one should observe the movements of that person's hands, the movements of their body, the lifting of their feet, the sounds they make, and so on. These actions will indicate whether they are going away or coming closer. Alternatively, one can meditate on one's own body appearing to move in the same way, until it becomes apparent. Then, by examining those manifest signs, one will come to understand the other person's intention, whether they are going away or coming closer. As it is said in the tantras: These samadhis, whether going or coming, or even moving, will appear as they are seen. Whichever sentient beings, if one contemplates them with equanimity, then they and all their thoughts will be known. This was spoken by the Bhagavan Vajrasattva. Its meaning is as follows: When abiding in the Great Seal and performing exorcism, the appearances of going, coming, and moving will appear as they are seen. If one wishes to understand the thoughts of any sentient being, whether they are leaving or coming, one should also abide in the Great Seal and think: May I truly understand the meaning of this matter. If one abides for a long time in single-pointed samadhi, then one will come to know those people and all their thoughts. This was spoken by the Bhagavan Vajrasattva. Thus, and so on, the first chapter, spoken at the time of the great Vajradhatu mandala, speaks of the accomplishments arising from meditation. More extensive and detailed content is found in the root great tantra itself.
