That. Why is that? Because, the mudra contemplated by beings with vows, after making vows previously, the Buddhas will remember and bless. As it is said: Merely by binding, the assembly of Vajrasattva and others, fearing the breaking of vows, therefore, it becomes the very nature of blessing. Thus it is said. Similarly, the very nature of the deity who is the nature of letters contemplated by beings with vows, should also be regarded as actually blessing into the very nature of the deity contemplated as the deity. Similarly, in other tantras as well, it is said: In order to bless oneself as the deity, therefore, one contemplates as letters or mudras. As it is said: Thereafter, with the mudra or letters, one should transform into the Vajra body. Thus it is said. Similarly, again, merely writing five letters, or three letters, or the mother letter of letters, or many letters, the Tathagata will bless, therefore it is said to be the Sugata. Mudra, in Sanskrit, is "modānada mudrā," because it pleases, it is called mudra. In Sanskrit, it is "mudrāna mudrā," because it seals with the mudra, it is called mudra. Why is that? Because, it bestows benefits in order to protect beings, and seals in order to quickly accomplish the desired siddhis. As it is said: Just as a king with his own seal, affixes it to the king's edict, so too, the mudra of the Great Lord, is similarly affixed to beings. Thus it is said. Similarly, in other scriptures as well, there is a chapter called "Secret Lord, the Ornament of the Tathagatas, the Sign of Realizing the Dharmadhatu, the Extensive Treatise on the Differentiation of the Sequence of Mudras." Adorned with it, when Bodhisattvas wander in samsara, among all beings, blessed with the marks and signs of all the Tathagatas, gods, nagas, yakshas, gandharvas, asuras, garudas, kinnaras, mahoragas, humans and non-humans will all be subdued, and they will also listen to the commands of those Bodhisattvas. The blessing of the mudra in this way also depends on the beings' faculties, faith, and samadhi, these three types, divided into small, medium

And the differences of the great are transformed into three kinds. Therefore, a practitioner with vows, through observing the mudras, becomes proficient in the visualization of the deity, and according to the differences of great, medium, and small, the desired accomplishments are also said to be achieved in three ways. Alternatively, for samsara and nirvana, either bound or liberated separately, the obstructing demons that create obstacles for great matters, because they cause fear, are called mudras. Other treatises also say that these explained from the tantras are taught elsewhere, this is the root of the vows. The binding of the head ornament is the most excellent of causes, because by this the entire body is stabilized, therefore it is praised as a mudra. Thus it is said. This is a brief summary of the distinctions of suchness. Therefore, the great self-natured one, having recognized these, in order to truly benefit the vast assembly of sentient beings, desiring to attain the supreme state, offers himself to all the Sugatas and their retinues, and however he relies on the supreme deity, he accomplishes the desired attainments by pleasing them. The distinctions of the limbs of pleasing them, here also are mostly observed through the words of the scriptures. Therefore, one should please the precious guru who understands the methods and rituals for this. Afterwards, having pleased the guru, the great mandala shown by the guru, as well as the mandalas of vows, dharma, and activities, are empowered according to the rituals, and through the rituals of the great vehicle's realization, one receives and protects the vows, discipline, conduct, and spheres of activity, becoming proficient according to the rituals, and from then on, in order to protect the vows and so on that have been received in this way, one should constantly not relax diligence, because this is the path that first leads to accomplishing all the benefits of oneself and others. The vow here is something that those who desire results should not transgress, because it can please one's supreme deity, and the characteristics of entering and returning of corresponding good and non-good actions of body, speech, and mind, this is the distinction spoken by the teacher. All are obtained and practiced, or rather, here all are realized and contained, therefore it is the cause.
