It is called the seal of words. As it is said: All the Tathagatas do not pass away, therefore it is said that the seal is a vow, in order to make the body, speech and mind firm. This is what is said. In this respect, the vow itself is the seal, so the vow seal should be explained from the tantras. It should be known that the sound of fame is definite in each place. Therefore, even if there is a reason to call Mahamudra and others the seal of vows, it is not said so. Those vow seals are also understood as vajra, hook, arrow, joy, etc. The meaning of these words such as vajra has been explained in this tantra. It is said like this: The Blessed One, that mind, dwells in the heart of Vajrasattva, the samadhi of the Tathagata, accomplishes Buddhahood. Because it penetrates extremely, it is vajra, because it combines supremely, it is a hook, because it penetrates subtly, it is an arrow, because it is joyful, it does good, because it is decorated, it is said to be a jewel, it is said to be the glory of the sun, because it is erected, it is shown as a victory banner, because it laughs, it is called laughter, because desire is pure, it is a lotus, because it cuts off the enemy of afflictions, it is a sword, because of the manner of the mandala, it is a wheel, because it is expressed in words, it is called speech. Because all differences are vajra, because it does not establish combination, it is armor, because it combines with fear, it is a tusk, because of the manner of binding, it is a fist. Like the mind of the Blessed One, in all Vajrasattvas, likewise the names such as vajra, if practiced, accomplishment will be attained. It is said like this. The characteristic of the nature of the words of Dharma is the Dharma seal, that is, Vajrajnana (Tibetan: བཛྲ་ཛྙཱ་ན་, Sanskrit Devanagari: वज्रज्ञान, Sanskrit Romanization: vajrajñāna, Chinese literal meaning: Diamond Wisdom) and Samaya Tvam (Tibetan: ས་མ་ཡ་སྟྭཾ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: समय स्त्वं, Sanskrit Romanization: samaya stvaṃ, Chinese literal meaning: Vow You) and so on. Here, the word "Dharma" refers to the deity of the nature of speech, that is, the nature of the Dharma that is spoken. Because all the languages of those great lords are the nature of teaching the ultimate Dharma and showing the benefit of others, therefore it is the nature of the Dharma that is spoken. Therefore, the words of the Dharma seal such as Vajrajnana, which have become seals, are called the Dharma seal.

Therefore, when practicing the Dharma Seal, it is said to meditate on the tongue as a vajra. Like this, explaining the secret of speech from other aspects also shows it as the Dharma Seal itself. As it is said: By the combination of vajra words, the nature of Dharma is expressed as a mudra. This is the clear holder of speech, the vajra word is soundless. Or, the nature of the sign of the deity's speech is the characteristic of the Dharma Seal. At that time, because Dharma-nature is a mudra, it should be explained from the tantra as the Dharma Seal. The letters shown as symbols of the deity's speech are also the nature of showing benefit to others, therefore it is Dharma-nature. Therefore, the mudra of its nature is called the Dharma Seal. Here, because the speaker and the word are not different, the sign of its nature is also shown in reality as blessing the nature of the deity with limbs. Similarly, it is also generally shown for other mudras. This is explained from the tantra of the Dharma Seal. The meaning of the word Karma Seal should also be explained. Among them, the sign of the deity's Karma is the Karma Seal, which is the characteristic of the Supreme Enlightenment and other mudras. Similarly, when practicing it, the nature of various actions, practicing everything from all vajra tips, the practitioner should think in the direction of the heart of the body. Here also, it should be understood from the meaning that the nature of the deity with limbs is shown closely through the way of showing close actions, because there is no difference between action and actor. The difference of the nature of the four mudras has been explained. All of these have two forms: contemplating as the nature of the deity, and contemplating by the being with vows. Among them, what is the sign manifested by the Buddhas, or what is the nature of the deity? Contemplating it without making distinctions in its parts is contemplating as the deity. Also, from the body of the deity, correspondingly, what is the nature of the deity generated by the one with vows? Believing in it without making distinctions in its parts is known as contemplating by the being with vows. Therefore, by praising the mudra contemplated as the deity as the nature of the deity, blessings are given, it is generally said.
