Thus it is said. Furthermore, monks or wise ones, like gold that is burned, cut, and hammered, after thoroughly examining, you should accept my teachings, not out of respect. Thus it is said. Furthermore, sons of Maitreya, clinging to the meaning of the word 'lord of the world,' mostly are born in the three lower realms. All of them mostly generate the mind of enlightenment from the teachings of the Sugata, engage in benefiting sentient beings, gather them with the four means of gathering, abandon the perfections such as generosity, abandon the grounds and paths, abandon the conduct of enlightenment, and cling to wrong meanings. Because of that cause, they are born in the lower realms. That is the fault of practicing dharmas that do not arise from the teachings. We and others who have faith in the path of yoga should also distinguish the meaning of the Great Vehicle and enter into the true meaning. If someone, due to ignorance, misunderstands the meaning of the teachings and clings to the doctrine, if they cling to conduct that should not be practiced, then they have transgressed the teachings. Therefore, one should rely on a virtuous guru and understand the meaning of the tantras. One should know what should be practiced and what should not be practiced. Taking desire and hatred as the path is for the purpose of guiding those to be tamed. Otherwise, if one is accustomed to emptiness, then by knowing the limits of the afflictions, it is like subduing with a poison mantra. This is for those who have attained stability. As it is said: For those who possess great means, afflictions transform into limbs of enlightenment. For those who are of the nature of peace, it is like poison killed by a mantra. Thus it is taught. Furthermore, considering that meaning, in the tantra of the arising of nectar, it is said: Just as butter and sugar, honey, milk, and so on, if digested after drinking, become medicine, but if not digested, they become poison. Likewise, this secret mantra Mahayana is the medicine of the wise, but for those who are extremely ignorant of the words and meanings, those who write and follow the words and meanings with desire, if they practice wrongly and improperly, they will die and fall like poison. Some live by the power of poison, and some die by the cause of poison. In the degenerate age of my teachings, like milk at the time of the market, after mixing.

It causes one to fall downwards. This has been extensively explained. Therefore, understanding from that meaning, it is also joyfully discussed in the Kunjora Tantra. Therefore, those who merely dabble in it are mostly overwhelmed by afflictions, how can it become the path? Those who teach without knowing the time will mostly fall. How it becomes the path will also be explained below. Sometimes, when taking hold of a desirous person, that method is taught in order to not be subdued by others. Furthermore, in the Vajra Cutter Sutra, it says, "Whoever sees me in form," and so on, and various intentions of other tantras have been explained. One should understand the meaning of all the Sugata's teachings and then engage in what should be done and what should not be done. Otherwise, if one only clings to the literal meaning, or is driven by desire, or follows ordinary people and goes astray, one will fall by transgressing the teachings. Like the outsiders, one has completely abandoned and transgressed the Buddha's true teachings. Therefore, abandoning the profound Dharma of the Sugata, delighting in outer treatises, despising vows and precepts, therefore one has transgressed the teachings. As it is said. If one does not understand the meaning of the various intentions of the Bhagavan and engages in outer treatises, or even if one does not engage, but despises vows and precepts, then one is disrespectful to the teachings. Because one does not keep the vows, one has transgressed the teachings. In another tantra, it says, "Transgressing his teachings is said to be the root of downfall." As it is taught, it is said that one should not transgress the teacher's teachings. This is the explanation of the first downfall, and similar points are gathered together. The intention here is that the teacher and the Vajradhara are not different, therefore the root of the sixth is gathered into one. This also becomes a downfall because it possesses the seven combinations: having an afflicted thought towards the teachings of the Sugata and the teacher, and knowing it there, showing the union of body and speech, not appearing as oneself, knowing and not regretting, rejoicing, and not being confused. There is no defeat in this, and if one does not confess, it is a downfall. The main ingredient is coarse chang.
