Those with craving are like fishermen who kill sentient beings such as fish. Those with desire, because they do not know that they have enjoyed such a woman today, they will contemplate. Furthermore, the author of the treatise said: The teacher who shows with compassion, are other rivers and waves also other? The nature of samsara and peace is like space. Just as a river is both water and waves, so the pure nature of samsara is nirvana. What does this indicate? For those who know the precious instructions of the lama, samsara itself is nirvana. Those who do not know think that they are contradictory. Such wisdom, to whom do you show and to whom do you listen? Who can enter this meaning? Like the dust in a poisonous hole, the mind sinks into it. It is said that how can you show the supreme profound path to someone who does not know it, and where is the person who can be shown it? There is none. Who can enter, who can grasp the meaning of this wise man? There is none. Such holy beings are only a few. Just as some people dig underground tunnels from a long distance to destroy castles. Such digging can only be done by those who are used to it, but others cannot. Why is that? Because the dug tunnel is very narrow, and the extremely poisonous dust inside will immediately suffocate and kill the fragile lives. Those with steadfast minds will not be killed by the poisonous dust, and those who dig will sink into that tunnel, and at first, when digging, they will expel some dust outwards. Therefore, a person can achieve great enlightenment from samsara through previous habits, because they are vessels. To show its qualities: As long as water enters water, the water will become the same taste. The minds of faults and virtues, for the foolish, there is no difference. Just as the water of the great ocean enters other water, the taste of the water becomes the same, for the great person who fully understands the faults and virtues of samsara, there is no inconsistency. Why is that? Because fault is the object of desire.

The five qualities, to purify them, are the oral instructions of various teachings of the Lama, for the sake of remembering it. Furthermore, to clarify it, (the text says:) "Do not cling to emptiness, friends, make your minds equal. Even a thorn as small as a sesame husk will surely bring suffering." This is what (the text) says. That is, do not cling only to emptiness, for that would lead to nihilism. Whatever things, those with substance and those without substance, have equanimity towards them. Therefore, composed of various things of self and others, make it without various distinctions, if you make various distinctions, faults will arise. Just as a sesame husk entering the eye also produces suffering, so too, if a yogi clings to emptiness, it is the same. If you do not meditate on emptiness, nor on non-emptiness, nor on both, nor on neither, then what do you meditate on? Just like that, it is and it is not. Just like the need for a wish-fulfilling jewel. (The text) says, although it manifests various forms such as blue, yellow, and red, or is said to be the nature of experience, it is not like that, because there are objects and no objects, and the two distinctions of mind and no mind, and all defiled dharmas are without support. Why? Just like a wish-fulfilling jewel, producing fruit. Just as seeing that a wish-fulfilling jewel can produce all things, although it is material as if in the hand, it can fulfill one's desired needs. The yogi also, because he has the wish-fulfilling jewel of the Lama's oral instructions in his hand, if he wants to attain the fruit of perfect and complete enlightenment, he can accomplish it, understand it this way. To reveal the truth of those who do not understand this but claim to be wise, (the text says:) "The wise who destroy illusions are truly amazing, the habit of self-realized great bliss." This is what (the text) says. Truly amazing, is to laugh. The wise want to rely on vowels and consonants, etc., to destroy illusions, (believing that) things will not be destroyed. Why? Because with self-realized wisdom, realizing all things within the mind, is also unattainable.
