It is not examining whose nature is meditation and what is to be meditated upon, etc. When the lama knows everything just by teaching, how can one know liberation without him? Thus it is said. Saying this is because some people think that the lama does not know all the teachings. If so, how does he know? It is said that he knows through habituation. It is not possible to know only through habituation, because it is accompanied by self-grasping. To show that very point, wandering through the realms and getting used to it, one will not know the innate, and will cling to sin. Thus it is said. Here, some yogis abandon their own dwellings and wander in all places, striving for food and non-food, etc., which only exhausts their own bodies and afflictions. There is nothing to be habituated to. Therefore, they do not know the unsurpassed innate, and cling to it. It is only random recollection, because of realization, there is no habituation, so it is understood. It is also said that there is fire inside the wood, but it will not appear until it is rubbed. Similarly, unsurpassed Bodhi will not arise unless it is cultivated. Thus it is said. If there is nothing to be meditated on for the time being, then how are recitations and meditations, etc., taught? To show that very point, by showing the realm, the realm will not be stained, just as taking a lotus from the water, it will not be touched by the water. Thus it is said. Just as taking a lotus from the water by boarding a boat in the water, it will not be stained by the water. If there is realization of knowing that very point, even if one enjoys the five desirable qualities, one will not be stained by afflictions. Thus, the yoga of habituation, with such a nature, the root yoga refuge goer, how can those with poisonous mantras be affected by poison? Thus it is said. With such a yogi, if one cultivates with the root, that is, all the teachings of the supreme lama, then one will not be stained by the faults of the realm. Therefore, one will not be stained by the impurities of the realms, whatever is external does not exist, awareness appears as if it were an external thing, the wise examine emptiness, and do not abandon emptiness itself. If one knows this, things and non-things, knowing that very point, that very point is the only wisdom. The illusionist and the dancer, that

Thus, one engages in yoga freely. It is said. Even if offerings to the gods are abundant, what is the use if one's own self is bound? It is said. Suppose one temporarily makes offerings to the image of a deity and attains accomplishment, but if one's own self is bound, what use is that deity? There is no use at all. In this way, samsara will not be cut off. Without familiarity here, it is impossible to arise. It is said. Even if one personally manifests the form of a deity, samsara will not diminish. Why? When sentient beings abandon the five aggregates of attachment and enter solely into the alaya-vijnana, the nature of the intermediate state, due to the force of past karma, they will again enter samsara. The form of the deity is also similar to this, because it is an object of discrimination. Therefore, samsara will not diminish, but will revolve like a water wheel. There is no need to practice deities and so on. Then, if one thinks that it is necessary to practice and recite as it is said, however, if one has the realization of wisdom for that very reason, then due to habit, one will arise from samsara. If one does not realize this, others will not be liberated. Therefore, you have not heard even a little of the supreme and sacred instruction. To show what that is like: eyes that do not blink, and the cessation of mind and the cessation of wind, are the instructions of the glorious guru. It is said. Here, foolish people think that the nature of discrimination is the guru's instruction, but this thought is not the guru's instruction. How does one not blink the eyes? Slightly open the eyes and do not move them. The cessation of mind is to dissolve into space and so on. By this, the wind will also cease, and this is the instruction of the glorious guru. Why? When the wind does not move, at that time, what can the lord of death do to the yogi? It is said. When the life force, which is mounted by the mind, becomes stable, at that time, what can the ignorant yogi do to the lord of death? The meaning is that he will not die. As long as the senses decay, at that time, one will die without hope. It is said. As long as
