As long as a yogi is weak towards the city of the senses, he will not know the instructions of the supreme guru. As long as a yogi analyzes the city of the senses with scripture and reasoning, and does not realize emptiness, then who can prevent the appearance and clinging to it by nature? It cannot be prevented, that is what it means. This is necessarily shown from habit. Here, through extreme difficulty, who can enter its meaning? Whoever exists here, he is not seen here. Thus it is said. Just as shown above, how can beings enter such an extremely difficult meaning? They cannot enter. Why? Because any thing, without the instructions of the supreme guru, will not enter. There is no meditation and object of meditation, etc., that is what it means. Thus it shows not understanding this: Scholars explain all the treatises, but do not know that there is a Buddha in the body. They cannot cut off coming and going. Scholars speak shamelessly. Thus it is said. All the scholars explain various treatises, but because it is only verbal pleasure, pursuing for profit, it is only the cause of going to hell. Not knowing the Buddha existing in one's own body, not knowing the instructions of the supreme guru, relying only on letters, explaining without the lineage of the guru, these people themselves fall, and also cause others to fall. Why? Because it is the cause of going and coming in countless cycles of rebirth. Similarly, Lachen Rinpoche said: Letters, words, and languages, for the Dharma that should be accepted, whether scholars or others, sound is for complete accomplishment, why do old people deceive in the world? When asked what is sound, abandoning the direct instruction, some people turn around their heads to instruct. Thus it is said. Before being alive and not becoming old, that is the unborn and undying. Thus it is said. This is an example of the meaning shown above. If one has not died and has not become old, etc., then at that time one will not become old and die, such a thing has not been seen anywhere. Or, just as by melting and burning many kinds of killed mercury, one can transform a hundred ounces of iron into gold. Like that.

It makes sentient beings free from aging and death. From the very beginning, the yogi with pure wisdom, in terms of food and so on, until when is employed, who would see no aging and death? The immaculate wisdom taught by the guru, that is endowed with treasure. Thus it is said. Through the instructions of the supreme guru, the unborn and undying state of accomplishing the yoga of immaculate wisdom is the very nature of the four bodies of Dharma, Perfect Enjoyment, Emanation, and Great Bliss. All that is tainted is prevented by this, not by others. Therefore, that person is the supreme one endowed with treasure. Thus it is said. Not relying on pure realms, whoever only practices emptiness, like a crow flying on a ship, circling and returning there again. Thus it is said. Whichever person does not enjoy the pure realms, the five desirable qualities given by the guru, but only meditates on emptiness separate from them, and only relies on mundane realms, that person will not accomplish anything at all. For example, like a crow dwelling on a ship in the great ocean, flying away and returning there again before finding another place to land. Similarly, childish beings fall into samsara due to the karma of samsara, because they only rely on temporary emptiness. Therefore, do not be bound by attachment to objects. Alas! Ignorant ones, the archer speaks thus. One should look upon them like fish, butterflies, elephants, bees, and deer. Thus it is said. Do not be bound by attachment to objects, enjoying the five desirable qualities, the archer speaks thus. If you do so, it is like a fish craving a corpse, desiring rainwater and going elsewhere to be killed by others; a butterfly craving form, dying by flying into a flame; an elephant craving touch; a bee craving smell; a deer craving sound and dying, all because craving comes first. Whoever's mind is illusory, that is without inherent existence. Thus it is said. Whoever's mind is illusory, such as eating and walking, that is without inherent existence, because it arises from ignorance.
