For the sake of the teachings. Knowing the Dharma, auspiciousness, auspiciousness arises. The auspiciousness of all auspiciousness. The auspiciousness of fame, good reputation spreads. Great breath-giving, great joyous feast. Great joy, great music too. Thus it is said. Thus, by knowing the meaning of the Dharma, in this life also, all good qualities arise, therefore it is auspicious. In the next life also, all good qualities arise, therefore it is auspicious. Among the auspicious things of the world, such as longevity, wealth, and the flourishing of lineage, it becomes the supreme auspiciousness. Famous in the three realms, and producing good qualities, therefore it is the auspiciousness of fame. Turning away from non-virtue and engaging in various virtues, therefore it is a good reputation. Giving breath to beings on the path of liberation, therefore making a great feast of Dharma that brings joy to all, and attaining great joy of the uncontaminated, therefore it is great joy. Not abandoning the qualities of desire, therefore it is called great music. The way in which he saves beings is: Respect, service, complete and perfect. Supreme joy, possessor of fame, glorious. Possessing the supreme, giver of the supreme, the chief. The supreme of refuge, worthy of refuge. The enemy of the world, the supreme of the excellent. The one who dispels all fears. Thus it is said. The object of respect and service by all is the treasure of all the complete and perfect qualities of the worldly and the transcendent. Supreme joy in benefiting beings. Glorious because of being famous in the three realms and perfecting the two accumulations. Possessing the supreme share of qualities, and also being the chief of giving the supreme. He saves those who are suffering from the fears of samsara, and there is none greater than him, therefore he is worthy of refuge. From what does he save? The thoughts of the world are the enemy, he saves from that. He is superior to the world, therefore he is a Hearer. He is superior to that, therefore he is a Solitary Realizer. He is superior to that, therefore he is a Bodhisattva. The one who is superior to all of them is the Lord. He eliminates all demons and suffering. In order to subdue with the appearance of non-Buddhists, he emanates there and does the work of benefiting beings. Topknot, hair tuft with hanging locks. Matted hair, munja grass, wearing a diadem. Five faces, possessing five topknots. Five side locks, wearing a flower crown. Thus it is said.

Therefore, a topknot refers to shaving off the hair and facial hair, only keeping a topknot on the crown of the head to subdue beings, and manifesting in that form. A braid refers to shaving off other hair and tying a braid on the forehead. A long-haired person refers to someone with long, fine hair. A matted hair refers to piling up the hair into a matted bun, which is the form held by those who believe in the Great Lord. A muja refers to hair that reaches the waist and is tied with a belt. A crest refers to tying silk and other things on the head. Eventually, it will fly to the crest. Five faces refer to having four faces in each direction, and one on the crown of the head, making a total of five faces. From the four faces, four sounds of the Vedas are emitted: from the east, the Rigveda; from the south, the Samaveda; from the west, the Yajurveda; and from the north, the Atharvaveda. In this way, to subdue beings like the five-faced Brahma, one manifests in that form. Furthermore, to subdue the non-Buddhist ascetics with five topknots on their heads, one manifests in that form. Furthermore, to subdue the Gandharvas who wear five jeweled ornaments on their heads, one manifests in that form. Furthermore, to subdue the Paranirmita-vasavartin gods who wear flower garlands on their heads, one manifests in that form. So, how should Buddhists hold their deportment? "A round head holds great deportment, celibacy is the supreme deportment, the completion of asceticism is great asceticism, a pure dwelling is Gautama, a Brahmin is Brahma, Brahma-knowledge." Thus it is said. Like Shakyamuni Buddha, renunciants, in order to subdue beings, manifest as a round head, holding the deportment of averting harm. Furthermore, to subdue beings who abide in the vows of celibacy and hold deportment, one shows that form. Like Shakyamuni Buddha practicing asceticism by the Nairanjana River, one also shows that form. Gautama is of the Shakya clan, abiding in purity, manifesting as a Kshatriya caste, and naturally practicing asceticism, abiding in purity, and also manifesting as a Brahmin. One is Brahma because one is not defiled by the faults of wrongdoing; one is called Brahma-knowledge because one knows the means to keep others away from wrongdoing. So, what are the benefits of manifestation? One obtains Nirvana Brahma, liberation is the body freed from samsara, liberation's peace is peace itself, Nirvana is Nirvana, approaching perfect Nirvana, eliminating suffering.
