The five faces are the four faces facing the four directions, plus one on the crown of the head, making five. The four faces emit the sounds of the four Vedas: from the east, the Veda of definite expression; from the south, the Veda of praise; from the west, the Veda of pleasantness and division; from the north, the Veda of protecting the state. Thus, for those who are tamed by the appearance of Brahma with five faces, he emanates in that form. Also, for those who are tamed by the appearance of heretics with five tufts on their heads, he emanates in that form. Also, for those who are tamed by the appearance of a Gandharva with five jeweled crests on his head, he emanates in that form. Also, for those who are tamed by the appearance of a god who controls the magic of others, with a garland of flowers tied on his head, he emanates in that form. So, how should Buddhists maintain their ascetic practices? "Round head, holding great practice, pure conduct is the supreme practice, asceticism to the end, great asceticism, pure abode, holy Gautama, Brahmin Brahma, knows Brahma." As it is said, like Shakyamuni Buddha, for those who are tamed by renunciation, he emanates as a round head, maintaining the practice of averting harm. Also, for those who abide in the precepts of pure conduct and maintain ascetic practices, he shows himself there. Like Shakyamuni Buddha practicing asceticism by the Nairanjana River, he also shows himself there. Gautama is of the Shakya clan, abiding in purity, he emanates as a royal lineage, his nature is asceticism, abiding in purity, he also emanates as a Brahmin. He himself is not stained by the fault of wrongdoing, therefore he is Brahma, he knows the means to separate others from wrongdoing, therefore he is called Knowing Brahma. What are the benefits of such emanation? "Obtain Nirvana Brahma, liberation, release, complete liberation, body, complete liberation, peace, peacefulness itself, Nirvana, Nirvana, well-gone, near Nirvana, removing happiness and suffering, becoming ultimate." As it is said, separated from the suffering of samsara, therefore it is Nirvana. Separated from attachment to that itself, therefore Brahma is obtained. Thus, liberated from all bonds, having obtained the body of wisdom, it becomes the basis for all qualities to arise, therefore it is called body. Thus, liberated from afflictions, all signs of elaboration are pacified, therefore it is peace. From that peacefulness itself, the qualities of the Dharma of Nirvana arise,

Transcending suffering is the path of the Shravakas. The future transcendence of suffering is the path of the Pratyekabuddhas. Completely transcending suffering are the Bodhisattvas. Eliminating both the extreme of happiness transcending suffering and the extreme of suffering in samsara, possessing the ultimate wisdom is the Buddha. In order to show the essence of the ground's reality as completely pure, it is said: "The unattached, beyond the body, the invincible, the incomparable, the non-manifest, the non-appearing, the non-illuminating, the unchanging, the all-going, the all-pervading, the subtle, the stainless, the seedless, the dustless, the dirtless, the stainless, the faultless, the flawless." Thus it is said, transcending the wisdom that is separated from the mind attached to objects, because it is not overcome by the power of dissimilar sides, it is invincible. Because it is not equal to anything, it is incomparable. This does not see any characteristic entity, nor does it appear in any sign, because it abides in the nature of self-luminousness, so in reality it does not need to be illuminated, like a lamp. It does not change by any unconditioned cause, the essence of the Sugata is universally liberated, just as oil in a sesame seed pervades everything. Because it is not known by the dull, it is subtle, and it is free from defilements, that is, free from the seed of existence, ignorance and self-grasping. Therefore, the dust of discrimination is eliminated from the ground, and the mind that does not understand it is also the same. If it is understood, it will be separated from the dust of understanding, and it will not be attached to it, so there is no impurity. Therefore, having abandoned the two obscurations, there is no fault of any kind. The way in which the non-dual meaning is spontaneously accomplished is: "Extremely awakened, the awakened one, the all-knowing, the all-seeing, the holy one, transcending the nature of consciousness, holding the aspect of non-dual wisdom, the non-conceptual, spontaneously accomplished." Thus it is said, awakened from the two obscurations, or awakened from appearance by wisdom, or awakened from the empty mind, therefore knowing all that exists, and knowing it as it is, and knowing it without distinction, therefore it is holy. Therefore, because it is free from conceptualization, it has transcended the realm of the nature of consciousness. Merely transcending, it holds the aspect of non-dual wisdom. The wisdom that is free from conceptualization is spontaneously accomplished without cause or condition, that is, the essence is spontaneously accomplished.
