These were spoken to the Bodhisattvas. Similarly, they were spoken in the five directions as well. Because the Dharma-nature space is completely pure, the Buddha Vajradhara also spoke these to the Tathagatas of the retinue. The glorious Vairochana also spoke these to the retinue of Bodhisattvas in Akanishta. At the summit of Mount Meru, the emanation of a Chakravartin-like being also spoke these to the gods of the Thirty-Three. In the abode of Tushita, the Victorious Maitreya also spoke these to the gods. Moreover, the sound of these also arises from stones, trees, and the sky, etc. That is: The teaching of the supreme Bodhisattva is empowerment and realization, all of space and form, and it will also resound from the sky. Thus it is said. Likewise, it was also spoken once in the root tantra of sixty thousand. Later, it was also spoken once in this Joyful Conduct. Shakyamuni Buddha spoke it twice. What is the meaning of singing the Magical Net? From the Great Tantra Magical Net: Great Vajradhara, holder of secrets, according to the command of the immeasurable ones, please explain the singing and dancing. This is in the root tantra, the Magical Net, etc., where Vajradhara also sang the Vajra song with immeasurable meanings, causing joy to arise in the retinue. Likewise, please also speak to us. The meaning of accepting what was requested: O Protector, for the sake of how I may become the holder of the secrets of all the perfect Buddhas, until the state of definite arising, I will firmly hold this with my intention. Thus it was said. In order to become the holder of the secret mantras spoken by the Buddhas, I will definitely hold it without doubt or hesitation in my mind until I attain enlightenment. Thus he promised. Promising to explain for the sake of others: In order to eliminate all afflictions and to abandon all ignorance, according to the differences in intentions, I will explain to sentient beings. Thus it was said. What will be done after holding it? It is explained in order to eliminate all the afflictions of sentient beings and to abandon their cause, ignorance and unawareness. Moreover, it should be explained after knowing the differences in how intentions are devoted, and not in common.

No. Asking with the three respectful manners of body, speech, and mind: The secret empowerment Vajrapani, thus the Tathagata said, after requesting, joined his palms, bent his body and stood before the Buddha. This means that Vajrapani joined his palms to Shakyamuni, bent his body in a respectful manner, rose from the lotus seat, and made a request. Second, explaining the chapter on answering. Now, in order to explain the chapter on answering, it is said, "Then, the Blessed One Shakyamuni, the perfect Buddha, the best of the two-legged ones." The compiler connects by saying "then" after the Lord has just asked. Subduing the four maras of aggregates, afflictions, the son of gods, and the Lord of Death, endowed with glory, fame, wisdom, dominion, beauty, and perfect diligence, born into the Shakya race of kings, because Shakya's body, speech, and mind do not need protection from unwholesome actions, and are naturally able to overcome, he is called "Thuba" (able one). All the purposes of self and others are fulfilled, all obscurations are cleared, and wisdom is vast. He is the chief of beings who abide on two feet, both humans and gods, therefore he is supreme. Or, because his body is supreme, he is adorned with marks and signs; because his speech is supreme, it is like the voice of Brahma; because his mind is supreme, he possesses the wisdom of omniscience; because his qualities are supreme, they are inexhaustible like a wish-fulfilling jewel; because his activities are supreme, he is unimpeded in benefiting beings. Thus, he is endowed with five kinds of supremacy. How did he explain the method? As it says, "From his mouth, he extended his excellent tongue, long and wide." Shakyamuni's tongue is the source of the arising of the sacred Dharma, therefore it is excellent, and because the tongue does not speak unwholesome things, it is excellent. Its characteristic is that the long and wide tongue inside the mouth is extended. What did he do with it? As it says, "Illuminating the three worlds, subduing the enemies of the four maras, showing the smile that causes sentient beings to go to the three lower realms." In general, the Tathagata also has natural light, but in order to subdue the pride of the gods, he made it dim with light.
