Being renowned in the three realms and having perfected the two accumulations, hence is glorious. Possessing the supreme share of qualities, and also being the chief of bestowing the supreme. He protects suffering beings from the fear of samsara, and there is none more supreme than him, therefore he is worthy of refuge. From what does he protect? He protects from the worldly conceptualizations, which are the enemy. Moreover, surpassing the world are the Hearers. Surpassing the Hearers are the Solitary Realizers. Surpassing the Solitary Realizers are the Bodhisattvas. Surpassing even these is the Lord. He eliminates all demonic obstacles and suffering. In order to subdue beings with the guise of non-Buddhists, he emanates into those forms to accomplish the benefit of beings. As it is said: "Crest-jewel, braid, willow-like hair, matted locks, muñja grass, adorned with a crest, five faces, possessing five crest-jewels, five side-locks, adorned with a flower garland." Here it is said that the crest-jewel refers to subduing by shaving off the hair and beard and keeping only a crest-jewel on the crown of the head, he emanates into that form. The braid refers to tying up the hair on the forehead after shaving off the other hair. Willow-like hair refers to long, thin strands of hair. Matted locks refer to disheveled matted locks. This is to present the form of those who have faith in the Great Lord. Muñja refers to hair reaching the waist tied with a belt. A crest refers to tying silk and other things on the crown of the head. Finally, the crest flies up. Five faces refer to four faces in each direction, and one on the crown of the head, making five faces. From the four faces, four kinds of Vedic sounds are emitted, namely, from the east, the Veda of definite expression; from the south, the Veda of praise; from the west, the Veda of pleasant sound; and from the north, the Veda of protecting the kingdom. In this way, in order to subdue beings like the five-faced Brahma, he emanates into that form. Also, in order to subdue those who have five crest-jewels on their heads, appearing in the form of non-Buddhist crumb-eaters, he emanates into that form. Also, in order to subdue those who wear five precious side-locks on their heads, appearing in the form of Gandharvas, he emanates into that form. Also, in order to subdue those who wear flower garlands on their heads, appearing in the form of gods who control the emanations of others, he emanates into that form. Then, how should one hold the conduct of Buddhists? As it is said: "Round head, धारण great conduct, pure conduct, supreme conduct, perfect asceticism, great asceticism, pure abode, noble Gautama, Brahmin, Brahma, Brahma-wisdom."

For example, Shakyamuni Buddha, as a renunciate, in order to tame beings, manifested as a bald-headed figure and held the ascetic practice of abstaining from harm. Again, abiding in the vows of pure conduct and holding ascetic practices, he shows it there for taming. Also, like Shakyamuni Buddha practicing asceticism on the banks of the Nairanjana River. Gautama is of the Shakya clan, abiding in purity, transforming into the Kshatriya caste, and naturally practicing asceticism, abiding in purity, also transforming into figures like Brahmins. Because he himself is not tainted by the faults of wrongdoing, he is Brahma. Because he knows the method of separating from the faults of others, he is called Brahma-jnana. What is the benefit of such transformation? Nirvana Brahma is attained. Liberation, emancipation, liberated body. Emancipation is peace, peace itself. Nirvana is nirvana. Close to perfect nirvana. Eliminating happiness and suffering, becoming ultimate. Thus it is said, being separated from the suffering of samsara is nirvana. Not being attached to that itself is attaining Brahma. Thus, being liberated and freed from all bonds, one obtains the body of wisdom, and because it serves as the basis for the arising of all qualities, it is called the body. Thus, being liberated from afflictions and all the signs of elaboration being pacified, it is peace. From that very peace, the qualities of the Dharma of nirvana arise. Nirvana is the path of the Shravakas. The subsequent nirvana is the path of the Pratyekabuddhas. Perfect nirvana is for the Bodhisattvas. Happiness is the limit of nirvana, and suffering is the limit of samsara, both of which are eliminated. Possessing ultimate wisdom is Buddhahood itself. In order to show the nature of the basis, the completely pure essence, it is said: Detachment, transcendence of the body. Invincible, incomparable. Invisible, non-manifest, non-illuminating. Immutable, all-pervading, omnipresent. Subtle, without outflows, without seeds. Without dust, without defilement, without stain. Abandoning faults, without defects. Thus it is said, the wisdom that is free from attachment to objects transcends appearance. It is not crushed by the power of opposing forces, therefore it is invincible. It is not equal to anything, therefore it is incomparable. This characteristic is not seen in any object, and no sign appears anywhere. Naturally luminous.
