Then, is it permanent or impermanent? If it arises from permanent dharmas, it cannot be a cause because it is unchanging. If it arises from impermanent dharmas, it is because impermanence is encompassed by time. Past, future, and present, which of these should be asked from where it arises? The past and future, being nonexistent, cannot be a cause. If it arises from the present, because cause and effect are simultaneous, the produced and the producer are unreasonable, and the proposition of being existent after being produced is broken. If it is said to exist without being produced, it is impossible to exist without being produced, like a flower in the sky. Therefore, those who are possessed by demons, all who believe that consciousness is real, cannot even have the name of liberation, but only destroy themselves. There are also two types of Madhyamaka, namely, those who say that all dharmas are like illusions and those who say that they do not abide. The tenet of saying that they are like illusions is unreasonable, because illusions cannot be established by valid cognition, and because they are illusions, they are not true. Therefore, illusions will disappear. The doctrine of believing in non-abiding should be understood as two types, namely, the ultimate truth of nature and the conventional truth. There are two types of ultimate truth, namely, conceptual and non-conceptual. There are two types of conventional truth, namely, true and false. These are the supreme tenets, and the unsurpassed Secret Mantra Vehicle cannot be separated from them. Then, is there no difference between the Paramita and the Secret Mantra Vehicle? For a Bodhisattva who has this thought, in terms of meaning, there is not the slightest difference. In terms of the difference in methods and paths, there are inconceivable differences. As it is said: 'Although the meaning is one, there is no ignorance, there are many methods and no difficulties, and because it is able to control those with sharp faculties, the Mantra Vehicle is particularly superior.' That's how it is. Like this, the one who benefits beings through various vehicles is the Wisdom Bodhisattva, you! The Three Vehicles refer to the Hearer Vehicle, the Solitary Realizer Vehicle, and the Bodhisattva Vehicle. Regarding renunciation, only the truth of the first ground can be attained by the Three Vehicles, but the ultimate wisdom of the eleventh ground can only be attained by the particularly unsurpassed Vehicle. Therefore, abide in the fruit of the One Vehicle. That's how it is. The Lord of purifying the realms of affliction, refers to the one who purifies the fruit of samsara.

The realm is the exhaustion, which purifies the cause of samsara. Rivers transcend all oceans. This refers to the rivers of desire, the rivers of existence, the rivers of ignorance, and the rivers of self-grasping. These are similar to the ocean and difficult to cross, hence they are called oceans. Transcending all oceans means liberation from all of them. By what means does one transcend? It is called the solitary place of union, which is the union of the two accumulations of merit and wisdom. A solitary place is called a solitary place, called solitude, called emptiness. Thus, it arises from meditating on the two accumulations and emptiness. Afflictions are desire, hatred, ignorance, pride, jealousy, and wrong views. Nearness refers to the twenty near afflictions, such as anger, resentment, concealment, annoyance, miserliness, deceit, cunning, arrogance, shamelessness, and lack of embarrassment, and so on. All afflictions refer to the afflicted mind. Possessing imprints refers to the alaya consciousness. Utterly abandoned means liberation from these. Thus, having understood the meaning for oneself, for the sake of benefiting sentient beings, great compassion and wisdom are spoken, and through the door of compassion and wisdom, one meaningfully benefits sentient beings. Abandoning the meaning of all concepts means liberation from grasping at characteristics. Consciousness is the consciousness of grasping. Meaning is the external object. Thus, liberation from the consciousness of the object is called cessation. All sentient beings possess mind and object. This means that the consciousness of those to be tamed appears as the body of a deity. All Buddhas understand the nature of the mind. This means understanding the meaning of non-conceptual wisdom. All sentient beings abide in the mind. This means that non-conceptual wisdom abides in the continuum of all beings. These enter in accordance with the mind. This means teaching the Dharma through the door of the different intellects of these beings. Satisfying the minds of all sentient beings. Making the minds of all sentient beings happy. Accomplishment is ultimate, without error. This means accomplishing the benefit of sentient beings to the ultimate extent. Completely abandoning all faults means wrong discrimination.
