I also hold any suitable weapon, hold the threatening mudra with my left hand, hold a rosary of great conches, etc., walk in uninhabited places, and even if I meet someone, I do not avoid them or bow. At night, I also dwell and walk in places like cemeteries that are frightening to children. This is the ascetic practice of the great wrathful body. Constantly reciting secret mantras and not speaking ordinary words, if demons manifest in pleasing or displeasing forms, enticing with joyful words or frightening with unpleasant words, I do not answer. This is the ascetic practice of speech. Constantly thinking only of the Bhagavan Yamantaka, abandoning other thoughts, not being attached to anything other than my own deity, constantly rejoicing in my own deity, even if ugly forms appear, and even if I hear unpleasant sounds, I am not afraid. Likewise, even if pleasing objects appear, I am not distracted or attached, but remain steadfast in wisdom. This is the ascetic practice of mind. Practicing these three kinds of asceticism is common to both outer and inner practices. The difference is that those who practice outer asceticism do not eat food, abide in fasting, and bathe three times a day. If hungry, they eat cow dung. If they cannot sustain their body with this, they mix it with milk and drink it. Or they mix the five products of a cow well and drink it. The ritual for mixing them well is as follows: First, mix cow dung and cow urine, knead them well, and let them sit for a while. Then, separate the clear liquid from the top and the sediment from the bottom, take the middle portion that is moderately thick, and mix it with milk, butter, and yogurt, boil it thoroughly, and drink it from time to time. If those who cannot do this, they can also eat pure and praised foods such as the three white foods, and after bathing well, practice asceticism. The three great festivals of time are the three times of getting up in the morning, noon, and before going to bed in the evening. The remaining time is spent on the ground.

When bathing, one should wash the entire body. For minor acts like urination and spitting, one should wash both hands and face. For situations involving the passage of impure air from the upper or lower body, spitting, eating, and after meals, one only needs to rinse the mouth. Furthermore, one should guard one's speech regarding actions that are inappropriate and not permitted by the Buddha. This is the unique characteristic of external asceticism. So, what is the unique characteristic of internal asceticism? It involves not fasting, not bathing, not restricting food, and eating without avoiding impure things. It also includes eating raw things that have become samaya substances, such as humans, elephants, horses, cows, and dog meat. Additionally, it involves consuming the five elixirs: luminous pills, urine, seeds, red lotus, and what is called 'great flesh.' Regarding any task, one has two thoughts: whether it can be done or cannot be done. One dwells without attachment in conduct, practicing asceticism. This is the internal characteristic. It is said that after practicing asceticism in this way for six months, one can then enter into practice. Before engaging in asceticism, one must combine it with any of the three approaches of closeness: fixed time, fixed number, and obtaining signs. Therefore, it should be understood that one can enter into practice with closeness and asceticism. First, in good circumstances, one should go to a place like a cemetery and, using ashes from the cemetery, draw the mandala at night as instructed. Here, a brief explanation of the characteristics of the Vajra Mandala of the Bhagavan is given: Draw a mandala with nine squares, marked with various vajras. On top of that, draw various lotuses, with eight, sixteen, one hundred, or one thousand petals, as one pleases. Outside the core mandala, also draw four corners, four doors, and a horse path. On the outer perimeter, draw a wheel with a hundred or a thousand spokes, surrounded by burning vajras at the tips, from which flames radiate. In the center, corners, and doors, one should also visualize the sun and moon as one previously visualized the wheel in one's heart.
