One should look at the center. Then, the mantra practitioner, having bathed well and put on clean clothes, anoints their hands with fragrant scents and sits at the western door, entering into the samadhi of their own deity. In the center of the mandala, invite the Bhagavan and contemplate well. Please them with offerings such as argha and flowers. Then, in front of the four great snakes, in four clean vessels made of earth, pour various kinds of water such as seawater, as well as cow's milk, and flowers without impurities, and place them there. Perform a water homa there and satisfy the nagas. The ritual for performing a water homa is as follows: Having arranged the base for the water in this way, also use other substances that have become offerings, the three whites produced from cows (milk, butter, cheese), the three sweets (honey, sugar cane, glucose), white sesame seeds, white rice, and so on, various kinds of white-colored grains, various jewels, camphor and white sandalwood, and so on, various kinds of incense and medicine, and other substances that are compatible with pure white water, as many as there are. Also, flowers without impurities, milk and rice porridge, and food mixed with three sugars should also be placed. Then, the mantra practitioner, with the pride of the deity, on top of the lotus that arises from the letter "pa" in the water of the vessels, again visualize the water deities transformed from the letter "pa" of their respective colors, having their own colors, having a snake-headed crest, each holding a lasso and an utpala in their hands. Then, from my heart, rays of light corresponding to the respective directions radiate, and visualize inviting water deities from the four directions who are similar to the previous water deities. Recite: Om Varuna Deva Datta Akarshaya Jah Hum Bam Hoh. Then, scatter flowers into the offering vessels, and visualize that those water deities have become inseparable from the previously visualized water deities and are seated on a lotus seat in the ocean of milk. Then, burn the fragrant incense and scatter it in the four directions. Light butter lamps made from cow's ghee in the four directions, and sprinkle fragrant water mixed with white sandalwood in all directions. Then, first scatter flowers and recite: Om Varuna Deva Datta Ya Svaha.

Think that the milk ocean becomes a great garden of flowers. By offering incense with that secret mantra, think that clouds of jewel nature form in that place. Then, by scattering that secret mantra on the livestock, nectar rain falls from that cloud, think that they feel very happy and joyful. Similarly, by offering butter lamps, think that a wish-fulfilling jewel, a precious gem, blazing with light, abides on the crown of the head, free from the fear of the Garuda. Similarly, by offering the three whites (milk, yogurt, butter) and the three sweets (honey, molasses, sugar), etc., with that secret mantra, think that they transform into a collection of desirable qualities corresponding to their respective substances, making them pleased. Then, scatter flowers into the water and say: Great water deity, please be aware! All water is your nature. May all that I offer to the water, together with all your retinue, be pleased, and may you also be pleased with us and grant us accomplishments. Then, again, rays of wisdom light radiate from one's heart, inviting the assembly of nagas from the four directions. Think that in the east, many kings resembling children, white in color, holding male and female attire, gather. Similarly, in the south, they are yellowish-brown, with the attire of brahmins. In the west, they are reddish-brown, with the attire of young children. In the north, they are those with the attire of animals, such as black pigs, black frogs, and black bulls, etc., gathered together. Join the palms of the hands, with the two middle fingers aligned and raised, and the rest spread outwards, making a lotus shape. This is the samaya mudra that pleases all nagas. By inviting with this, think that they gather in the four great milk oceans of the four directions. Then, think that they also become of the same nature as the water deity, abiding as retinue and main deity. Sprinkle with scented water, and think that the four directions become very pure. Then, offer as in the water offering ritual, and with that mudra: Oṃ sarva pannāga phuḥ phuḥ sarva pa
