Also, in the Sutra of Auspicious Night it says: Who knows when one will die tomorrow? Today itself, one should strive and be diligent. This Lord of Death, the Great Bliss, is not to be regarded as a friend. Thus it is said. These beings of the preta realm, with their great power, especially kill those who commit evil deeds, and they kill them untimely. As it is said: Like sucking the blood from the vital spots, they torment, like entering a most terrible dark place, causing one to abandon all beloved friends. Bound tightly by the noose of the Lord of Death, even if one cries and wails, the relatives do not hear, like one's own echo. Thus it is said. Similarly, these beings also greatly torment the gandharva beings during the intermediate state. In the midst of impassable rivers and boulders, on dangerous paths entangled with sharp thorns, the messengers of the Lord of Death, with the noose of time tied around their necks, beat and drive them with clubs. Thus it is said. Similarly, these beings also greatly destroy the beings of the hell realm. The guards of hell beat them with clubs, and while shedding tears, they pour molten iron, a chain of iron blazing with sparks. It is said that the guards of hell are the messengers of the Lord of Death. Then, the messengers of the Lord of Death say to those hell beings: What do you want, etc., as it is said in the sutras. Like this, the cause of being born into endless realms is also said: Extremely angry and violent, deceitful and lying in speech, delighting in cheating and deception, one will be reborn as a Lord of Death, a Rakshasa. Thus it is said. Therefore, these beings are called the Lord of Death because they kill, whip, and greatly torment. Since this is the case, why was the meaning of the name Lord of Death not explained like this before, when explaining the gods in detail? Because the word "Yoga" (藏文:ཡུ་གམ་) is led to "Yama" (藏文:ཡ་), so it becomes a dual meaning, and since it has become like this, there is no harm in doing so when showing the supreme meaning. And this explanation can also be understood as the basis of the meaning, so it is explained here, so it was not arranged before. Just seeing those beings that were said before to be untamable even with iron

That wrathful deity who destroys is the enemy. As for "surely destroy," "surely" means for the sake of destroying. "Destroy" means to manifest. Thus, this is very inferior, because the emanation of the great Vairocana Buddha is Vairocana Buddha, and his further emanation is the venerable Buddha Shakyamuni, as it is said in the scriptures: "The Akanishta realm is delightful, above the pure realms, the true Buddha attains enlightenment there, the emanations attain enlightenment here." If it is said that the further emanation of that emanation is this, that is not the case, because no matter how many similar emanations there are, they are all manifestations of the great Vairocana Buddha alone. Previously, it was explained that all Buddhas are one, and also, what is called emanation is not completely separated by wisdom, but wisdom itself has obtained manifestation. Therefore, in the presence of the teacher Buddha Shri, it is also said that according to the aforementioned order, having manifested one's own essence of wisdom and means, as long as the emanations are under his control, one must manifest the essence that is inseparable from one's own essence, because it is possible to generate one's own essence that is not inverted, and the essence and name of wisdom and means are the same, and it is the nature of an inseparable lineage. The stream of discrimination arising from the previous discriminations is the lineage, and what is called emanation is not other, because if it were other, it would only be discrimination. If it is said that how can it be one since it has various natures due to different lineages? If that were the case, then nothing would become one, because even the body of a deity has various natures due to having multiple parts, and that which has no parts has not become an object. How is it established as one? Just as it is one in conventionality, for the various natures of other ways, one must also rely on clinging to its essence, so that one engages in contemplating that everything is self with inseparable clinging. They consider all things to be equal.
