That is because, it is desired to meditate on emptiness. Thus it is said. Therefore, the Great Secret is the meaning that even the Lesser Vehicle practitioners cannot understand, thus it is proclaimed: Not understanding, obscured by darkness, therefore, the Shravakas cannot understand. It means that not understanding, is not understanding because of not having afflictions, because the Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas do not possess all-knowing wisdom. Not understanding is also darkness, therefore it is said not understanding darkness, because the wisdom that does not discriminate the true meaning does not appear. Obscured by it, is not understanding obscured by darkness, because the Shravakas have not abandoned the obscurations to knowledge. As it is also said in the Perfection of Wisdom: Subhuti, does the Tathagata see the undefiled aggregates? World Honored One, does not see. Therefore, the Shravakas cannot understand. It means that the Shravaka is the Buddha of the Shravakas, having heard from the teacher, having completely understood the four parts of determination, and having manifested the path of seeing. They cannot understand, because they have not abandoned the grasper and the grasped. Field of activity, are the six external sense bases such as form. Those that appear to be non-existent due to the influence of past life karma are the habitual tendencies of the field of activity. That is merely understood as imputation, the knower of the habitual tendencies of the field of activity, is manifested as a Pratyekabuddha. It means that the Pratyekabuddha, before this life, having completely understood the four parts of determination, without entering the path of seeing, having died and in the next life, without needing to hear from the teacher, will surely understand the four parts of determination by himself, and manifest the path of seeing. Manifestation, is taking out. That all, is saying that all Pratyekabuddhas also cannot understand, because they have not abandoned the discrimination of grasping. As it is also said in the Ornament for Clear Realization: In order to abandon the conceptualization of the object of grasping, and because of not abandoning the grasper, the path like the horn of a rhinoceros, should be known by truly summarizing. Thus it is said. The meaning of the word 'also' is that what the Shravakas do not understand, the Pratyekabuddhas also do not understand.

No, it means pursuing meaning. "Ignorant ordinary people" means that the sound of not understanding pursues the higher one, and ordinary people also do not understand, that is the meaning. Among them, "ignorant" refers to the ignorance with afflictions, because ordinary people have afflictions and the obscuration of knowledge. "Ignorant," and also an ordinary person, therefore it is said to be an "ignorant ordinary person," which means different from the noble ones, because they have not obtained the path of seeing the Dharma of the noble ones, and have not been liberated from non-virtue. Showing the meaning of not understanding at all times, the three times of future, past and present, is easy to understand. "Animals" refers to the three lower realms that have strayed from the realms of gods and humans. Their non-virtuous karma is the habit of animals. What arises from that is, what arises from that, the birth of animals and hungry ghosts, etc. Among them, "animals" refers to those who belong to the category of livestock, excluding gods and humans, because they go as livestock, so they are called animals, such as non-humans, etc. However, livestock, etc., should be understood in terms of meaning. "Hungry ghosts" refers to those who have passed away and will never return from this. Or those who suffer from hunger and thirst. Falling into these two realms is, the birth of animals and hungry ghosts, etc. All of these also do not understand, because the three lower realms are tormented by various sufferings. What is said to be not understood is, the great secret of the Buddha's realm. The text has been abridged. In this way, the qualities of the greatness of Dharma-nature have been shown, and now it is showing the meaning, temporarily and the manifestation of the Dharma realm is, from where does it arise? To this question, the answer is, "Essence, very essence, supreme," and so on. Among them, "essence" refers to the outer mandala, because it is unshakable and can ripen the fruits of wishes. As it is said in "Worldly Manifestation," because the essence is gathered, it is called a mandala. The mandala is different from, "Essence, very essence, supreme," which will be discussed below.
