Because it cannot be abandoned, and the effort is the same, the second is just conceptualization. Because the very nature of the undefiled true meaning, being independent by its own nature, cannot be abandoned, and because it possesses an undifferentiated essence, and because there is no need, the third is not virtuous. Like this, observing together, once its essence is established, if one is completely abandoned, then the other will inevitably be abandoned as well, or it will not be established for any. Because the very nature of elaboration increases effort, and because it cannot be analyzed, it is of the nature of delusion, and therefore not of the ultimate nature. If it is said that the last aspect of the third is also not good, then one should not speak any reason for that. Even if it becomes the nature of elaboration, things like peacock feathers and bindus are repeatedly meditated upon, until they become manifest, because of the effort of repeated meditation. And everything exists in the very object that should be meditated upon, and if it is destroyed here by effort, then one should not meditate on anything at all. If it is said that the nature of elaboration is like that, then what is the difference between meditating on elaboration and non-elaboration? However, the difference is that non-elaboration quickly becomes stable. Because the mind is repeatedly fixed on any one object for a long time without interruption, it becomes stable on that, which is reasonable. There is also scriptural evidence for this, as it is said: Therefore, true, not true, whatever is extremely familiar, when the power of meditation is perfected, that is clear, non-conceptual, with wise results. Thus it is said. And here, not far away, it is also said to be abiding, as it is said: Ema! Ignorant one! Ema! Lazy one! Ema! One who turns away from the ultimate! The Buddha who is related to one's own mind, even if he does not stay long, it is very wonderful without effort! Is it not so? Therefore, there is no difference in this. If it is said that focusing on elaboration is of the nature of delusion, and therefore not ultimate, then, because the objects of all meditation are not inverted, there is no need to meditate on anything at all.
