Without explanation, it is the nature of arising itself. The term "Thusness" indicates similarity with that through the word "Thusness." And what is similar to that is that from a gathering possessing what kind of wisdom, just as the arising of wisdom jñāna (Tibetan: ཡེ་ཤེས།, Devanagari: ज्ञान, Romanized Sanskrit: jñāna, Chinese literal meaning: wisdom) arises, the mudrā also arises from a gathering similar to that, and not from elsewhere. This is the meaning of the word "Thusness." Here, the object that expresses the meaning to be expressed must be comprehended. Because it is understood here, the expresser is the wisdom jñāna (Tibetan: ཡེ་ཤེས།, Devanagari: ज्ञान, Romanized Sanskrit: jñāna, Chinese literal meaning: wisdom) that has been experienced. Without grasping the particular, the qualified cannot be realized, and with this intelligence, it is not appropriate to be the expresser itself without experience. Because it is to be expressed and known, to be understood and accomplished, it is the expressed, the fourth that has become manifest. Here, some say, "Empowerment has three aspects, and it is widely known from this tantra." If so, is the fourth not authentic? Has the Blessed One not spoken the words "Thusness is also the fourth"? How can it not be? It is true, the Blessed One spoke it in order to protect the oral instructions and because it is to be taught. Others say, "The fourth is the great accomplishment," etc., and there is the word "fourth" in those statements, but the word "fourth" is spoken here only to distinguish it, and there is no distinction of the fourth empowerment? If it is according to their own wishes, then striving to manifest it and meditating on it will become a fault of being meaningless. Acknowledging that it has results is also establishing the fourth. For this, the wisdom jñāna (Tibetan: ཡེ་ཤེས།, Devanagari: ज्ञान, Romanized Sanskrit: jñāna, Chinese literal meaning: wisdom) itself that expresses is comprehended, but for what is to be expressed, everything has become confused, so it must be analyzed. If what is to be expressed also exists, then will it become the essence of meaning or the essence of knowledge? For this, it is not the essence of meaning, because meaning itself does not exist, and because it has been refuted by a valid cognition that is separate from the nature of one and many. In the tradition of mantra, it is also said that it is consciousness-only, and the main point is the light doctrine of the Madhyamikas. It is the essence of knowledge.

If it transforms into that, is consciousness also with aspects or without aspects? If it is with aspects, will consciousness transform into a nature of non-duality or a nature of multiplicity? One should examine it in this way. Among them, those who speak of the absence of aspects say that consciousness with aspects does not exist in all cases, like a flower in the sky. They say this. In direct perception, aren't blue, yellow, white, and so on, as well as the nature of things like pots, blankets, and vehicles, appearing as various aspects? Since these things do not exist in those aspects, but are the very nature of consciousness, how can it not be with aspects? Indeed, the appearance of various aspects exists, but it is false. Falsity itself is also fully established by the characteristic of being free from singularity and multiplicity. The nature of valid cognition has also been explained elsewhere, so it is not elaborated here. Because it is established as false, it fully reveals the nature of delusion, like the nature of illusion, and the cessation of delusion also makes only the absence of aspects ultimately established, like a pure crystal ball. Therefore, the consciousness with aspects, does it exist in the non-dual nature of consciousness or in the nature of multiplicity? Both of these thoughts are eliminated. Is the consciousness without aspects, which has become the object of focus, not without an object even in dreams? How can it be said to be ultimately established? Consciousnesses are only the awareness of the nature that fully illuminates aspects such as happiness, without aspects, and aspects such as blue are also falsely appearing. Otherwise, if those were true, then all aspects would become true, and in that case, the objects of grasping and the grasper would also become true. Because appearance has become true, therefore, all of them would necessarily become liberation, because even a slightly inverted nature would appear. As it is said: Look at truth as truth, seeing truth is liberation. Therefore, even if unwilling, one should view aspects such as blue as false. If aspects such as happiness are regarded as true, then how?
