These are considered to be the conventional truth that appears as dualistic. The first view is unreasonable because consciousness is without inherent existence. This has been extensively explained in the Madhyamaka treatises by noble Nagarjuna and others, so it will not be discussed here. The Sutra of Showing No Birth states, "All dharmas are only the mind of the son of the gods, and that mind itself is without inherent existence." Therefore, if you want to enter the city of definite goodness, you should know that the mind is the conventional truth. The Holy Lankavatara Sutra states, "It is not as before, because there is no consciousness, no objects, no alaya-consciousness, ignorant people like corpses, are measured by evil discriminations." etc. The second view is also unreasonable because there is no dharma of samsara. Why? The root tantra states, "In short, the five aggregates are regarded as the five Buddhas." etc. This is because of mistaking forms etc. for reality due to discriminations etc. Samsara appears like a snake on a rope, and as mentioned above, it does not exist. The Shri Jnana Vajra Samuccaya states, "Secret Lord, the snake on the rope does not exist. However, if you remove the dimness and see the rope, there is no other meaning. Secret Lord, similarly, forms etc. are mistaken for reality due to discriminations etc." "However" is because of habit. If someone follows the path I have shown and eliminates the habit, they will see permanence etc., and will not cling to anything else. Therefore, Nirvana is the only conclusion. As mentioned above, through reasoning that separates from forms etc., everything is shown to be only mind. And, after preventing the wrong understanding of it, it is also said to be the form of the mandala wheel. The so-called "faith" refers to the complete trust in karma and its results, truth, and the Three Jewels, thereby causing faith to arise in the mind. "Diligence" refers to making the mind fully engaged in virtue. These purities and the familiar things themselves will not be forgotten, that is, appearing in the mind. "Samadhi" refers to the mind being one-pointed on the object being examined. These completely pure sequences are the four, Yamantaka etc.
