So, how is that considered direct perception? Therefore, the so-called "those two" refer to what was previously obtained and what was later closely obtained. The so-called "mutually consistent" is because of having and not having. The example given, such as happiness, refers to happiness and suffering being inconsistent at all times, just like that. Now, in order to show that the oneness understood by reason is not established, the so-called "form, etc." and so on. Among them, the so-called "form, etc." refers to all things such as pillars. The so-called "not one" is the established negation. Why? Because of "the beginning," etc. "The beginning" refers to the upper part of the pillar, etc. "The end" refers to the lower part. And so on includes parts such as the middle. Therefore, since the appearance of being included and not included appears, and gradually proceeding completely, and the subtle being invisible while the coarse is visible, and appearing as many such as horses and elephants, therefore, clinging to one itself is a mistake. Therefore, the teacher Dignāga said, "One does not proceed gradually, is not simultaneously included and not included, appears as many categories, and the eye cannot see the subtle either." Jñānagarbha also said, "On things such as pillars, with differences such as above and below, from that divided into many, clinging to one is a mistake." Therefore, one is not an object. Now, in order to show that the extremely small belonging to the many is not established, the so-called "atom," etc. According to their view, phenomena are composed of atoms, and those atoms have no parts, and do not distinguish between darkness and light, and are considered to have homogeneous situations. In order to show that that is also unreasonable, the so-called "atoms have no visible parts," that is, one cannot see individual atoms, but sees the coarse. Because the essence of the coarse is emptiness, it is not an atom. Jñānagarbha also said, "Individual atoms are seen by the intellect, the intellect is focused on the coarse, the coarse has parts, so the atom is not established as an object." Therefore, many atoms are also not objects of the intellect, and this reason is the same as refuting one, because it belongs to things with parts. Now it is substance relation.

In order to demonstrate the non-establishment of the aggregation belonging to atoms. It starts with "the central one" and so on. According to their view, each atom gathers, without distinguishing similar kinds, sticking together, and it is conceived that there is no object. In order to show that this is unreasonable, it is said, "the central partless atom," that is, when there is aggregation, it is unreasonable for the central partless atom to be followed and aggregated by many atoms, because it is partless. Thus, if one counts whether what follows that position is from six directions or from one direction, the first is reasonable, because what is located in the center becomes six parts. In that case, the atom itself will be damaged. The second is also unreasonable, namely "the center of the earth" and so on. Because the nature is the same, wherever the position of one is, the others merge there, so all the coarse forces such as the center of the earth will not appear, because everything becomes just an atom. Therefore, atoms cannot be recognized. Apart from that, there is no kind called aggregation, so it is not aggregation. The teacher Vasubandhu also said: If six combine simultaneously, the atom will become six parts. If the six are in one position, previously it will become just an atom. If there is no combination of atoms, then where does that aggregation exist? The teacher Lavapa also said: If you do not admit the aggregation of atoms, you must speak of other aggregations. Because the reason is not visible even slightly, aggregation cannot be established as an object of knowledge. Thus, because objects are non-existent, the nature of the grasper produced by it is also non-existent, because there is no grasped at all. The noble Maitreya also said: Objects and sentient beings, selves, etc., are the consciousness of the aspect of appearance, the one who is completely produced, that object is non-existent. Because that is non-existent, so that is also non-existent. Thus, after showing that the previous tenets are not established, now the summary of the meaning of one's own establishment is declared. "Therefore" and so on. Therefore, it refers to the power of reason mentioned above. Grasper, etc., means that because there is no grasped, there is also no grasper, that is, it is free from the nature of the two graspers.
