The mother practices are four: practicing through aspiration, practicing through the single ground of suchness, practicing through mere clarity, and practicing through the inseparability of profundity and clarity. The first of these is to manifest aspirations with the intention of benefiting beings when experiencing forms and so on. For example, when a Bodhisattva sees a pleasing form, they should generate the thought: 'May all beings truly see the form of the Tathagata.' When seeing something unpleasant, 'May all beings become disgusted with the suffering of samsara.' When seeing something neutral, 'May all beings attain equality in all things individually.' And so on, as explained extensively. The noble Maitreya also said: 'As appearances arise to oneself, When engaging with objects of experience, One who dwells in existence, possessing compassion, As is fitting in each and every way, Generates a mind of benefit for beings, Through that door, diligently cultivates aspirations.' So it is said. The second is to contemplate all objects of experience with the reasoning of selflessness. As it is also said in the Sutra Pitaka: 'Son of good family, when a reciting monk transforms demonic obstacles into causes of obstruction, by contemplating selflessness, he overcomes them and enjoys the benefits.' This is explained extensively in the sutras. Therefore, contemplating selflessness is the antidote to inversion. Although it is difficult to definitively prevent it from arising from the ground, it can be exhausted through realization. When an undesirable result arises, only the truth is realized without power. What evil is there when forms and so on are grasped by that? Therefore, selflessness does not arise instantaneously in relation to inversion. As it is said: 'Whoever does not desire various things, In the world, conceptual craving arises, Likewise, the desiring person, The dwelling place of the world transforms variously, That one steadily subdues their own mind.' So it is said. The third is that focusing solely on extreme clarity in relation to forms and so on is the antidote to the appearance of ordinary nature. Therefore, one experiences by focusing solely on the body of the Buddha and so on. Therefore, one does not desire that I am goodness itself. Due to the power of the distinction of intention, that itself is the nature of goodness.

It is precisely because of this. Therefore, it is taught thus. If a Bodhisattva offers all pleasures to eighty thousand Buddhas, each with eighty thousand attendants, for many eons, and some Bodhisattvas enjoy their own alms food in order to uphold the true Dharma, and so on, it has been extensively explained. The fourth is to eliminate all conceptual thoughts and abide in the body of the Sugata, which is perfect in all aspects and radiates light everywhere, inseparable from suchness, and equally abide in all realms of experience. This itself is the true cause of perfection, therefore it is a true offering. If there is any concern about this, thinking there is fault, evil will increase. Therefore, by preventing all ordinariness and attachment, one can obtain the true great protection of Nirvana. It is said: The guarding of the eyes is good, the guarding of the nose is excellent, the guarding of the tongue is good, the guarding of the body is very good, the guarding of the mind is good. O, Bhikshu, who guards well, you will be liberated from all suffering. This passage is also the meaning of this. Therefore, turning away from agreeable forms and so on, because the true cause is abandoned, it is not a vessel for Bodhi. If one fears what should not be feared, it becomes the cause of various sufferings. It is said: To fear what should not be feared, this action is the cause of downfall, the cause of a great stream of evil, therefore it will be very long. Due to the decline of the lineage, one will also abandon the spiritual friend and completely abandon wisdom. From previously unperformed good deeds and this great meaning of the Dharma, he will fall because of this. Therefore, this itself is what truly delights one's own mind, so it is an offering. Preventing all perversions, so it is protection. This itself is turning away from stinginess and so on, it is going to the other shore. Therefore, the yogi also acts like ordinary people. Now, the ritual of how such a yogi enjoys food will be shown. Knowing the time to eat and so on. Among them, when a yogi enjoys food, in the center of the heart moon, that is, on the moon on the heart chakra, is the mandala of the wisdom sattva.
