Oṃ! Having pleased any of the noble gurus, from entering any mandala with complete rituals, having received empowerments such as the vase empowerment, and having understood secrets and utmost secrets, the term 'yogi' is used. Thus, he has shown the common qualities of all yogis. Now, the qualities of entering into practice are spoken, saying "as in the ritual" and so on. "Having received permission" means having received permission from the teacher in the past and having received one's own permission later. Among these, the first is to be known generally, and the second is special. "Having meditated on the mantra with equanimity through the four as in the ritual" refers to the seed syllable of one's own deity. Meditating as in the ritual is to please through the stages of the initial yoga and so on. In order to obtain what was mentioned before and so on, one will enter into practice, otherwise not. He himself is endowed with wisdom, because he knows that all inconceivable things are in the manner of the wheel of the mandala, so he realizes it because there is no appearance of external objects. Other than what is mentioned here, the guru has also said, "Knowing the oneness of secret union, and through the three vehicles, knowing thusness," and so on, which should also be understood here. Immediately after that, everything is briefly summarized, and the perfections of the practitioner are spoken. Now, in a pleasant place, having become very accustomed, the body becomes very accustomed, so one will touch bliss. Because one touches bliss, through samadhi, one will know as it is, so in order to show the delightful place, he said "wherever" and so on. "Wherever" does not refer to specific things, but should be known generally. The specifics are spoken of as "immaculate water and so on." Immaculate, that is, water and so on are also like that, so it is said that way. Is it only these? No, the best of trees, such as mango trees and so on, adorned in the manner of garlands in all the nearby places, is called "covered." "Mountain" not only has the characteristic of being nearby, but in reality, it is because wisdom arises from a completely pure mind. Such a place is external.

For the sake of being pure in accordance with the Dharma, the places such as sandalwood are mentioned. Sandalwood refers to the sun and the moon. The word "etc." includes things like urine and feces. That is, using the nature of Vairocana Buddha etc., a square platform is made and smeared. There, fragrant flowers, colors, and shapes etc. are properly arranged, and other pleasing things like banners should also be recognized there. Such a place is suitable for meditation. There, sitting comfortably on a cushion in the vajra posture, add the words "Bhagavan Manjushri should be cultivated diligently." Among them, Bhagavan refers to destroying all things with mirror-like wisdom etc. That which is in accordance with those. Or, because of destroying, it is called destroyer, that is, destroying the four maras with non-dual wisdom. This also relies on afflictive wisdom, so it is said that wisdom destroys afflictions. That which is in accordance with this is like that. Or, because the自在 etc. destroy the unpleasant etc., it is called destroyer. That which is in accordance with those is like that. "Gentle" has already been said. "Voice" refers to what is said, that is, it refers to the order that will be explained below, the meaning of should be cultivated. Now, by what path order should the Bodhisattva Manjushri be cultivated? In order to explain that path order, the first yoga is mentioned, that is, "the first" etc. "The first" refers to the four times, or the first of yoga. What is that time? "Dawn" etc. are mentioned. Dawn is the time of dawn. This is only an approximate characteristic. Because most kalpas are shown at that time, it should also be understood at noon etc. At that time, what should be meditated on as the first of yoga? That is, "the center of the moon in the heart," that is, in one's own heart, in the center of the moon mandala, the cause of the four immeasurables of the Great Brahma, which has been practiced for a long time and has become one, transforms into five-colored rays of light, that is, it has the characteristics of being non-inverted. That is, from the great desire of the tantric scriptures, all meanings arise.

I abide in red and yellow, writing "ma." Writing this is the cause of compassion and so forth, as was taught. Moreover, the Vajradhara, with my seed syllable, merely by remembering it, may compassion and so forth arise in the continuum of that sentient being, thus arising through the power of aspiration, for the sake of meditating on the four immeasurables, it is said to be endowed with compassion. Compassion is the desire for all sentient beings to be liberated from suffering and its causes. Focusing on that is called having it. Here, it is only a brief indication, but love and so forth should also be understood. Among them, love is the desire to gather all beneficial happiness. Joy is being pleased with whatever path of means makes the fruit manifest and accomplishes the benefit of sentient beings. Furthermore, equanimity is not engaging in praise and other actions through the gate of meditating on the nature of profundity and vastness. Among these, compassion is like the root, because all qualities increase when only compassion is the basis. Thus it is said. Therefore, love is like the trunk. Joy is like the branches. The two accumulations and so forth are like the leaves. Other yogas are like the flowers. In that yoga, the complete ripening of one's own and others' continuums is like the fruit, as was said. As it is said: Endowed with compassion, love, for the suffering of sentient beings, acting for happiness greatly increases, like branches growing on a trunk. The mind's suchness, abandoning and taking are the leaves, with constant aspirations, the two aspects of dependent arising, for the sake of ripening within one's own continuum, not like the flowers of a poisonous plant, for the sake of completely ripening oneself and others, one enjoys the fruit of compassion. Thus and so forth, in the bindu of liberation, the great master spoke thus. Therefore, these four Brahma-viharas should be understood in the following places such as "Vajra heart, you." In the vastness of the Dharmadhatu, it does not disappear or change, because it changes like flowers and fruits. "Purify the mouth and so forth," this refers to emptiness, signlessness, and wishlessness. Having done this first, close mindfulness.
