Thus, by establishing the foundation in stages, phenomena are not of a permanent nature. So it is said. The teacher Vasubandhu also said: When is it that your object is not apparent at that time? How do you consider that to be direct perception? So it is said. Therefore, "those two" refers to what is obtained earlier and what is obtained later. "Mutual" means harmonious, because of cessation and existence. An example is given: "such as happiness," which means that happiness and suffering are not harmonious at all times, meaning it is like that. Now, to show that the oneness understood by reason is not established, "form, etc." means "and so on." Among them, "form, etc." refers to all things such as pillars. "Not one" is the proposition to be refuted. Why? Because of "the beginning, etc." "The beginning" refers to the upper part of pillars, etc. "The end" refers to the lower part. "Etc." refers to including the middle part, etc. Thus, the appearance of what is grasped and not grasped, and the steps of gradual progress, and the invisible subtlety and the visible grossness, and the appearance of many such as horses and elephants, therefore, grasping as one is a mistake. Therefore, the teacher Vasubandhu said: One does not go gradually, there is no simultaneous grasping and not grasping, there is an appearance of many categories, and there is no subtlety that the eye cannot see. So it is said. Prajñākaramati also said: In things such as pillars, because of the differences such as upper and lower, and because they are divided into many from that, grasping as one is a mistake. As it is said, oneness is not an object of observation. Now, to show that the indivisible atom belonging to the many is not established, "atom, etc." is said. According to their view, things are made of atoms, and they are without parts, and they do not distinguish between darkness and light, and they contemplate with similar circumstances. To show that this is unreasonable, "the parts of the atom are invisible," which means that each atom is invisible and the gross is observed. Because it is empty of the nature of the parts of the gross, it is not an atom. Prajñākaramati also said: Each atom is observed by the mind, but the mind observes the gross, and because the gross has parts, the atom is not an object of observation. Thus.

Yes. Therefore, the argument that "numerous atoms are not objects of consciousness" can be refuted in the same way as refuting things with parts, because they belong to things with parts. Now, in order to show that the aggregation itself, which belongs to the destruction of the characteristic of substance, is not established, the phrase "the central" and so on is stated. According to their view, it is assumed that each atom gathers together, without distinguishing between similar types, sticking together, and without a target. In order to show that this is unreasonable, it is said, "the central, partless atom," that is, at the time of aggregation, the central atom has no parts, and the numerous atoms follow it, and this aggregation is unreasonable because it is partless. In this way, if following that position is counted from six directions or one direction, the first case is reasonable, because the thing located in the center becomes six parts. In that case, the atom itself will be damaged. The second case is also unreasonable, namely "the outline of the earth" and so on. Because the nature is the same, wherever the position of one is, the others dissolve there, so the coarse armies such as the outline of the earth will not appear, because everything becomes just atoms. Therefore, atoms cannot be regarded as knowable. Apart from that, there is no kind called aggregation, so it is not an aggregation. The teacher Vasubandhu also said: If six combine simultaneously, the atom will become six parts. If the six are in one position, then before it will become just an atom. If there is no combination of atoms, then where does that aggregation exist? The teacher Lavapa also said: If you do not admit the aggregation of atoms, you must explain other aggregations. Because the argument is slightly unclear, the aggregation cannot be established as an object. In this way, because the objects are existent, the nature of clinging produced by it is also non-existent, because there is no object to be grasped. The noble Maitreya also said: Objects and sentient beings, selves, etc., the consciousness of appearance, the one who is completely born, that is meaningless. That is not, therefore that is also not. In this way, after showing that the previous school is not established, now the meaning of approaching one's own establishment is stated, therefore
