It should not be the size of a thumb, but the size of a little finger should be observed. To do something like this on the handle is a measuring vessel. What is a pouring vessel like? A pouring vessel is two fingers wide, in the shape of a lotus. One finger deep, with a vajra inside. This means that the five-pronged vajra is placed Carved two fingers wide in the shape of a lotus, one finger deep. Inside it is the term for placing the five-pronged vajra. The measuring vessel and pouring vessel are wooden spoons for offerings, made of gold or silver, etc. If these two cannot be found, then the five fingers spread out can be used to measure and pour. Or three fingers spread out can be used to pour. How does one measure, burn, and pour? Therefore, the measuring vessel, etc., is mentioned. On the mouth of the measuring vessel and pouring vessel, visualize the seed syllable of one's deity emitting brilliant light. Write the letter ram (Tibetan: རཾ, Sanskrit Devanagari: रं, Sanskrit Roman transliteration: raṃ, Chinese literal meaning: ram) on the mouth of the fire god, and then place both hands between the knees. With the pouring vessel, pour three measures of butter into the slightly opened mouth of the fire god. Then one should examine whether the fire has obstacles and the characteristics of being without obstacles. Burning well with good color and shape, and having qualities such as sound and smell, indicates the absence of obstacles. A lot of smoke, etc., indicates the presence of obstacles. That is: Much smoke and low flame, Difficult to burn, burning little by little, The flame is scattered, without splendor, Rough and dark, like the color of palasha, Like a spear and fine powder, Also like the head of a cow, The smell of corpses and unpleasant odors, The smell of donkeys and similarly foul odors, The burner is afflicted by burning, The flame is wild and flickering. Know that the fire has obstacles, Then perform the ritual of the nectar oven. Just as it is said. If it is known that the fire has obstacles, purify and thoroughly cleanse it with the mantra of the nectar oven, and protect it properly. Then use it to pour butter seven times. Then purify again. In this way, for the fire that is without obstacles or free from obstacles, fill the measuring vessel with butter and pour it once, three times, or seven times with the pouring vessel, reciting Om (Tibetan: ཨོཾ, Sanskrit Devanagari: ओं, Sanskrit Roman transliteration: oṃ, Chinese literal meaning: Om) E

The so-called offering with mantras such as "ཧྱེ་ཧི་" means performing a fire offering. The so-called "possessing merit" means being knowledgeable in accumulating wealth, up to "having the appearance of a king." Therefore, use trees such as Napalasha, Udumbara, mango, Kadamba, Serserka, Pilaksha, Ashvattha, Shami, Nigrodha, etc. All trees containing milk should be cut together with the milk and moisture. Cut from the central part of the tree, with two leaves, as thick as a wrist, about a fathom long, soaked in milk, yogurt, and ghee. Both ends are coated with yellow spices, pinched with the thumb and forefinger, and one end is used for offering. Old, leafless, cracked, hollow, broken, barkless, too long, too short, bent, split at the top, thin, thick, wormy, worm-eaten ones should all be discarded. This is its meaning. The so-called "with Yama wood in the fire" means the fire lit with Yama wood. The so-called "unmilled" means unmilled raw rice. The so-called "order of rituals" means according to these orders. Therefore, like the initiation ritual, this is a brief instruction of the order. Therefore, all items used for burning should be offered to the mouth of the fire god. Yama wood and Kusha and other items should be offered to the mandala of light. Food and drink should be offered to the hand. Fragrant water should be applied to the heart. Flowers should be placed on the head. Incense should be burned in the light. Foot washing water should be used for washing feet. Lamps and offering water should be placed in front. Among them, the clear water for offering should be offered in other containers. Then, offer food and drink and Sang smoke offering to the fire god. Then, for the common deities, perform the common fire offering ritual, which is reciting mantras such as "Yeshe," visualizing the samaya of such self-nature wisdom, which is the fire god, on the moon in his heart, visualizing the deity and its mandala born from the seed syllable "མཾ," inviting the wisdom mandala, and performing the fire offering with offering water and offerings as preliminaries. And, for each offering, one can perform burning once, three times, seven times, or twenty-five times.
