The Commentary on the Ritual of the Glorious Guhyasamaja Mandala, Ratnakara Shanti. The Commentary on the Ritual of the Glorious Guhyasamaja Mandala. Ratnakara Shanti. In Sanskrit: Śrīsamājamaṇḍalavidhiḥṭīkā. In Tibetan: The Commentary on the Ritual of the Glorious Guhyasamaja Mandala. Homage to the Bhagavan, the Lord of Speech. Whatever is the excellent ritual of the glorious Guhyasamaja mandala, its measure is four hundred and fifty, which I shall explain. Here, because one of such nature who sees, teaches, hears, thinks, and meditates on all the mandalas of all the Tathagatas without exception, is able to always perfectly accomplish the benefit of all beings in every way, and has directly realized it, it is generally said that accomplishing very many benefits for oneself and others will come first. Therefore, by merely explaining what is to be said about this mandala of the arising of the glorious Manjuvajra, the attainment of its rank by one who is preceded by the accomplishment of very many meanings is the purpose of what is to be said in this treatise, and this distinction should be understood, otherwise it is not. The necessity of speaking must necessarily be spoken, otherwise, if it is not there, it will be like searching for a crow's tooth, and this treatise will not be something to be taken up. Moreover, those who seek the necessity as stated above separate themselves from other mandala rituals and wish to engage in this one. Therefore, the statement and necessity of this must be stated in such a way that it will be understood as not being common with others. However, one verse cannot separately express the two necessities that are primarily important, because it contradicts the very unity of speech. That is, as it is said, "One meaning is called a word." One is primary, and the other is not primary, therefore, what is shown is primary, therefore, the meaning is one. That is, as it is said, "Whatever sound is supremely connected with, that is the meaning of the sound."

Because in some place, in order to indicate the other purpose by emphasizing one of the two purposes of the speaker and the things to be spoken, it is said, "Definitely liberated from the obscurations of knowable things, etc." Obscuration is a synonym for hindrance and obstruction. Here, the word "knowable" is used to explain that, through careful examination, it is the wisdom that becomes the object of knowledge. For example, it is similar to calling the samadhi that takes emptiness as its object as emptiness. The word "etc." covers afflictions. Because it is both knowable things, etc., and obscuration, knowable things, etc., are obscurations, which are synonyms for afflictive obscuration and obscuration of knowledge. Among them, afflictive obscuration is greed, hatred, ignorance, etc. Because it is both affliction and obscuration, it is afflictive obscuration, just like a door bolt for entering a house, it becomes an obstacle to attaining liberation. If asked: How does it become its obstacle? Because if it exists, then liberation will not arise. The so-called obscuration of knowledge, in which knowledge is the ten aspects such as the pervasion of the Dharma realm. For knowledge, the ignorance that becomes an obstacle to the arising of wisdom, which is not of an afflictive nature, is the obscuration of knowledge. Whoever can gradually eliminate these one by one, the Bodhisattva will gradually attain the ten bhumis. In this way, for the time being, there are two types of obscurations. Or, in this tantra, there are four types of obscurations, namely obscuration of knowledge, afflictive obscuration, obscuration of meditative absorption, and karmic obscuration. That is, such as "Therefore it becomes the end of knowable things," etc., and "Likewise it becomes the end of afflictions," etc., and "Likewise it becomes the end of meditative absorption," etc., and "When the obscurations of afflictive karma are purified, all karmas will be completely purified, all karmas will be completely purified, the fruit born of karma will be completely purified," etc.

From which there is definite liberation. The reason for saying this is that they have abandoned the habitual tendencies. It is precisely because of completely abandoning the habitual tendencies that the eleventh ground, the Buddha ground, has obtained all the light. It is also a mirror and also wisdom, so it is mirror-like wisdom, meaning wisdom like a mirror. Mentioning wisdom is to distinguish it from the mirror itself. The sound of "etc." refers to the wisdom of equality, etc. Being perfectly endowed with mirror-like wisdom is the meaning of the word "including." Here, the first verse explains the Bhagavan's perfect abandonment, and the second explains the perfect wisdom. Others were not mentioned for fear of prolixity. The wheel is the mandala. "Supreme" means sacred and auspicious. Since it is both secret and a supreme wheel, it is the secret supreme wheel. That is, the supreme wheel of Manjushri. There is nothing in the wheel of noble Manjushri that is not supreme and auspicious. Therefore, although it is implied by the meaning of the word "supreme," the mandala of Guhyasamaja is shown to be the supreme of all. "Secret" means that it should be hidden from those who are not vessels, or because it is the nature of the secret of the mind. Moreover, this Bhagavan arises from the lineage of the mind in this tantra. Alternatively, "secret" is the nature of body, speech, and mind. "Supreme" refers to the sacred ones, Buddhas, and Bodhisattvas, etc., because it is their wheel, it is the secret supreme wheel. That is, the meaning of Guhyasamaja. Body, speech, and mind are the three aspects. "Secret" refers to the teachings. "All Buddhas" refers to the assembled congregation. It is explained as it is said. Here, all the traces mainly show the written mandala in the way that all traces gather in the elephant's trace. In order to show that the mandala to be contemplated is its branch. "To explain it" means the instruction "it should be explained," and these explain the necessity of what should be explained. Merely explaining the distinction of what is to be explained.
