Thus it is taught. Now, applying to such a meaning of non-duality, it is said that it can be manifested in this very life, such as the two powers. By equally combining the doors of method and wisdom, completely gather my body, speech, and mind into non-dual wisdom, and generate such pride, raising the spirit of the mind. Adorn it with all forms of vows and precepts, and thus become a yogi. In this way, in this very life, the perfection of non-dual wisdom will surely be completed in one's own continuum. Now, for the second stage, the yogi who is certain, abiding in the protection of body, speech, and mind, and in the food vows, if he practices this, it is said that he will be liberated from bondage, such as the Vajra Body. Since it arises from Vajrasattva, one should not despise the various forms of men and women, this is the vow of the body. Similarly, due to the nature of the Vajra Mind, one should not refute the former mind with the latter mind for all the bad and good thoughts in the mind, this is the vow of the mind. Since it is only the nature of Vajra Speech, one should speak harsh words and so on, generated by desire, as appropriate, and should not prohibit them, this is the vow of speech. Similarly, meat and so on should also be attended to by the wise, such as the Tathagatas. This is only a slight symbol, as collected from all Yeshe Dorje, one should practice this body composed of the four elements, distinguished by hundreds of lineages. The five afflictions such as desire, the noble ones have also said, are vows that are not abandoned. Similarly, things that the world considers impure, such as excrement and urine, have the power to be purified by the fire of wisdom, therefore the wise should always eat for the sake of the vow, and make fire offerings to please the mandala of the body, thus the vow of food is taught. Thus, possessing vows and practicing this, the bonds of existence can be quickly dispelled like lightning dispelling darkness. When one becomes the third yogi, the non-dual wisdom will blaze in an instant with the practice of asceticism, and there should be no hesitation. Thus, vows and precepts

Therefore, in order to abide in vipassanā and cultivate the true meaning of the second stage, the first stages of its basis are taught by way of examples, such as "therefore." Therefore, having obtained the oral instructions on the ultimate reality of all things from the guru, restrain the three doors of body, speech, and mind with the previous vows, and with great compassion focus on all sentient beings. In a monastery or any suitable place, first do all that is appropriate to do, and constantly meditate on the meaning of non-duality. That is to say, first cultivate the uninterrupted seed, and because of that cause, compassion will arise, desiring to be liberated from suffering and so on. Because there is this compassion, one will seek various means. By this one will become a Tathagata. Therefore, if one cultivates only compassion at first, all qualities will arise from it, so it is called like the root of a tree. Joy is like the trunk and branches. That is, loving-kindness, which desires to be liberated from suffering and so on and to greatly increase happiness, is like a trunk. Because it arises from that. The branches grow and become clear. That is, having become branches from that, one's own mind knows the true meaning, and one desires to purify all impure beings. In particular, one acts by the conduct of the deities, and applies oneself to the maturation and liberation of beings, thereby generating joy. This is called joy and satisfaction, like branches, because it is all-pervasive. Abandoning and taking, that is, purifying the obscurations of karma and taking its purity, that is, constantly making aspirations, from the object of reliance and offerings, etc., up to the unaccomplished signs, cultivating the two accumulations, thereby making the field fertile, just as if one sows seeds in a tamed field, the crops will grow. By purifying the obscurations of karma, one will enter the wheel of the mandala. Therefore, this is like a tree of many years, because it becomes the support of flowers and fruits. Two aspects of dependent arising arise, that is, the cause by which one's own continuum matures, and the cause by which the continuum of others matures, that is called a flower, because it becomes the cause of fruit.
