etc., because they contradict each other. The consciousness of the eye, etc., only grasps what is near and present. If it were not so, then distant and interrupted things, past and future, children and old people, etc., would also be grasped simultaneously, which would be difficult to avoid. Thus, up to this point, it is shown by blocking the valid cognition that establishes the grasped and the grasper. Now, because there are no things from the valid cognition that has harm, it only shows the mere consciousness, and what is said is the beginning and the end, etc. The thought is this: external things are analyzed by other debaters in many ways with the distinctions of qualities and substances, etc. Among them, the basis of the qualities and other things is the substance, so when the substance is blocked, those substances together with the root will not arise. Therefore, it is not said who can produce it separately. The many are not without aggregation, so according to its view, refutation is not mentioned. Substances are also of nine kinds: earth, water, fire, wind, space, time, direction, self, and mind. Among them, the self should be considered immediately. Sound is also considered to be the quality of the nature of space. If so, because they are the same, all sounds would not be heard as different. Therefore, just like the place near oneself, it appears in the interrupted place It should also be heard that the sound is heard, or it should not be heard, which is certain. Because direction and place are also the same, it is not suitable as a cause of before and after, etc. Thinking this way, this distinction is because the things that can be distinguished are different. So, is the before and after of the things that can be distinguished from themselves or from others? Among them, according to the first view, because it is recognized from itself that it has been established, those distinctions are meaningless. According to the second view, if it is only from direction and place, then because it is the same at that time, the changes at this time are unreasonable. If it is said to be other, then those distinctions will become meaningless. Space, direction, and place are all permanent dharmas, so they have a common function or are separated from it.
