It is also meaningless to say "it does not exist as the nature of consciousness," because if consciousness itself is blue, etc., then consciousness must also be corporeal. This very form that possesses the quality of pervading the object is itself corporeal, and it exists only in this. It is also not true to say that the clarity of happiness, etc., is undeniable, for example, when a tired body is immersed in water, one experiences pervasive happiness. Such a state is also not non-pervasive of the object, because then the body would necessarily be like that. If it pervades the object, then like the body, it must be corporeal. Therefore, if one thinks of consciousness as formless in another way, this does not go beyond the refutation of external objects, so the teacher did not make a special effort to refute it, it should be understood. Therefore, the statement that "consciousness is not to be called existent" is valid. Then, if consciousness and knowable things do not exist, will it become merely non-self-existent? No, because consciousness exists conventionally, because convention is undeniable. If non-existence necessarily arises because existence is negated? No, because non-existence necessarily presupposes existence, and if existence is not established, then non-existence will not be established either. As it is said: "Non-existence is led by existence, existence is led by non-existence. Therefore, if non-existence is not spoken of, existence itself will not be constant." It is also not the nature of both existence and non-existence, because existence and non-existence are contradictory. It is also not other than existence and non-existence, the essence of neither, because it is unreasonable for anything to be other that is external to any basis. Then, will it become that there is no reality at all? Is this itself not reality? For example, one can say that it is separate from reality. Therefore, because consciousness that is necessarily liberated from the four extremes appears. Therefore, the reality that does not exist in reality is the reality of knowing reality, this statement is valid.

No. If that were the case, how would there be samsara, since it would be eternally permanent? And since there is no such thing, how would there be purification? To address this doubt, it is said: "Here," and so on. This very mind, free from the four extremes, is the aspect of samsara by the nature of the continuum of conceptualizations that cling to self and so on, while turning away from clinging to self and so on, and ultimately fully knowing only the nature of selflessness, is complete purity, that is, liberation. Here it is also said that one should strive to purify conceptualization. In this way, conceptualization that is particularly attached to external objects is ordinary because it is accompanied by delusion and conforms to existence. Because it abides only in its own nature, without conceptualization and without delusion, the nature of manifestation is completely pure. As it is said: Because of conceptualizing objects, conceptualization does not desire to be self-aware. Therefore, conceptualization also does not conceptualize its own nature, therefore, by nature, all phenomena are completely pure. That very thing is spoken of, beginning with "Here." The later disciple of that very one, Master Nagarjuna, also said: Nirvana and existence, these two are not existent; the very complete knowledge of existence is said to be nirvana. Nirvana is not at all different from samsara; samsara is not at all different from nirvana. So it is said. Well then, if there is no difference in the nature of existence and peace in that very thing, then how is it? Because it is separated from forms such as form, for all, that is, speaking of "for all" and so on. It is said that the word "all" is an object of many meanings. That, if there is no difference, thinking that it should not be connected, to welcome this doubt, it is said, beginning with "all itself." In conventionality, there is indeed a difference between peace and existence, and so on, therefore, all that is other than that which is the universally conceptualizing nature of the appearing object of conventionality, there is nothing at all, the word "all" is conceptualization.
