As it is said: "The habit within something is exhausted by that something itself. Therefore, the mind, with certainty, does not rely on external objects." Thus it is said. Then, as for the reason that awareness has no external cause, such as forms and pleasures, since they occur sequentially, how is it reasonable to state the fault of not being able to perceive them simultaneously? I do not know. Even if it is said that they are perceived simultaneously, it is only the apprehension of pleasure, etc., that is determined to apprehend forms, etc., and it is only apprehended by the non-commonality of all perceptions of forms, etc., because from the collection of prior causes, the moments of objects and consciousness are necessarily produced as the apprehended and the apprehender. How could the apprehended and the apprehender be confused? This has no essence, because for the self-nature of non-conceptual direct perception, like the appearance of blue, etc., there is no appearance of the apprehended and the apprehender, or the commonality of blue. The fact that blue is to be seen by another perceiver is not what is perceived by direct perception, because the perception of another would also be direct perception. Nor is it to be perceived by inference arising from signs such as bristling hair, because its object is the general characteristic. Therefore, the simultaneous perception of non-common forms, etc., is only consciousness, because the object is permissible, so the one who abides does not know that it is his own consciousness. If one doubts whether the external object is not momentary, not having a single nature such as having parts, etc., the answer is, it is white, etc. White, etc., that is, seeing white color, etc., that which is perceived by direct perception, it does not see others before or after it. The meaning is that what is seen is the emptiness of before and after. Explaining the reason, what has been seen, what is being seen or is being seen, and what will be seen are always mutually contradictory, like pleasure, etc. Eye consciousness, etc., only apprehends what is near and present. If it is not so,
