Explanation of the "Base" from Three Aspects: The base is called "method." That is, in the conventional truth, from the arising of the earth element and so on, all the natures of everything are the base. The aspect of no self-nature is the nature of wisdom, which is the source or cause. Similarly, the fruit is not taken away. It means that realizing without duality is the fruit, and it cannot be taken away by other causes and conditions. Thus, the three aspects are completely related and gathered, so it is called "Continuum," because the continuum can reveal. Furthermore, everything that is accomplished within the continuum is gathered here, which shows this point. "Lineage is aspect" and so on. From the ultimate truth, the nature of mind is one, which is Vajradhara. It itself has three manifestations: body, speech, and mind. From this, five more arise, which are the forms of permanence and so on. Each of these is divided into five, twenty-five, and a hundred aspects are divided from body and so on. In general, lineage is boundless. All these lineages, or any others similar to them, should be categorized like the three aspects of base, nature, and fruit. Thus, what is the meaning of the root continuum? It is the "Bodhi Vajra" and so on. In the root continuum, the teacher speaks of the mind of enlightenment with vajra words, similar to this, so it is considered the later continuum, because the meaning spoken is not different. This is also considered to be three. Just like this. What is Suchness? And so on. To show the answers to the four questions asked. Suchness and so on. These are easy to understand. To show the meaning of the word "Bodhi mind Vajra." What is the mind of enlightenment? To show the answer to this question. No birth and death and so on. Saying "existence and non-existence are inexhaustible" means being free from the two extremes, abiding in non-abiding nirvana. The chief, like a cause, is universally pervasive. "Emptiness and compassion are inseparable," this is the Dharmadhatu. To show the meaning of the word "Knower" in the first chapter. Similarly, what is a Knower? The answer is, one's own.
