It is necessary to commit to accepting the sacred word, otherwise debate is not allowed. Therefore, the sacred word itself may cause harm to it. As it says in the Commentary on Valid Cognition: "Therefore, for the meanings that have been established, even if the treatises are abandoned, there will be no harm. If there is no commitment to accepting the sacred word, faith in hidden things will not be allowed." This is true, because you also consider the wisdom that realizes the inseparability of the two truths to be the same. If it does not exist, then since its object does not exist, the direct perception that precedes it does not exist, so even a slight inference that relies on it will not be established, either causing harm to everything or not even a little, because there is no difference. For those who say that ultimate reality exists, differentiation is reasonable. Furthermore, even for the treatises spoken by those who are not omniscient, it should be regarded as without fault. For the sacred words, validity has already been negated in the previous one. Otherwise, if even the sacred word spoken by the omniscient one does not harm the dharma established by validity, then what opportunity is there for any faith to gain harm to the mind established by self-awareness direct perception? Even if there is, the Blessed One has taught that it depends on the body, because the body and mind are mutually compliant. Therefore, in stating this harm: "In order for its wisdom to benefit, the mind is said to depend on the body." This explains the Commentary on Valid Cognition, therefore it is abandoned. Furthermore, the characteristic of self-awareness direct perception, the wisdom of the omniscient one itself is validity, because it is not deceptive. It is ultimate, and its language itself is conventionally valid, because others are not. The Ornament has extensively explained this, so it should be understood there. What is said is: "All knowledge related to meaning is not seen by direct perception. Related by way of generality, this is established by inference. Because there is no other validity, from where is doubt cut off? Therefore, nominal terms are validity." If that is the case, if nominal terms are validity, then how is the definition of validity stated in the treatises? Even if it is stated in the treatises, it is not that it becomes so merely through words, but because it is non-deceptive in nominal terms. If that is the case, the treatises themselves are meaningless. Saying
