It is inference, therefore it should be examined. Therefore, certainty arises from this. The object of examination is also said to be unestablished by valid cognition. Since self-awareness is established by direct perception, why is it not established by valid cognition? For objects of apprehension, doubt, and obscurity, examination is the master of subsequent inference. Since self-awareness is established by direct perception, why do the wise engage in it? Because of doubt, reason, and words, confusion is not the basis of reason. That which possesses the characteristics of valid cognition, it is impossible to have mind in that. These and others, in the Commentary on Valid Cognition, are considered to be harmful to all examinations. One and many and separation, etc., by knowing the reasons for apprehension, etc., the conceptualization that appears to be attached to apprehension, etc., is not an external object of self-awareness. Here, the distinction between one, etc., is examination itself, not self-awareness. In the various consciousnesses of blue, etc., the difference of consciousness is not based on others. It cannot be shown that it is the very nature, by distinguishing it becomes meaningful. Even when attachment becomes clear, it is because they enter at the same time. Non-conceptual and conceptual, because of ignorance of other direct perceptions. Does the mind with or without conceptualization enter simultaneously? Is it ignorant because of the speed of entry? They are attached to those as one. Self-awareness itself is not established. If it is said that although it is free from conceptualization, self-awareness free from conceptualization is established by direct perception. Direct perception free from conceptualization is established by direct perception itself. All depend on the names of conceptualization, each knows all knowable things by itself, because of the clarity of that nature, the one who clarifies his own nature, how does he want to manifest clearly? Thus, it is the experience of the mind. Direct perception is the very nature of what is experienced separately, that is its very nature. All these in the Commentary on Valid Cognition are obstacles, establishment, and proof. In the knowable and the knowing things, the examination has been stopped. It is not a matter of scripture, nor is it just a harm to reason. Just as a sword cuts itself, just as a fingertip touches its own tip, just as it does not cut or touch, so does the mind see itself. From the nature of the material of consciousness, the removal arises greatly, what is the non-material nature, this is the awareness of self-nature. By the object of action and agent, self-awareness is direct perception.
