That is how it is perceived. This is what the noble Asanga said in the Bodhisattvabhumi. So, by what reasoning can one understand that all dharmas are of an inexpressible nature? It is by examining the individual characteristics of dharmas, such as form, or feeling, or perception, or formations, or consciousness, and so on, as before, even up to nirvana, that one should know that these are merely imputed names. Apart from what is not of its own nature, or separate from it, there is no object of speech or place of speech. Thus, how can the nature of dharmas exist as it is spoken of, and not be completely non-existent? It is not that it exists in that way, nor is it completely non-existent, so how does it exist? It exists by abandoning the non-grasped well of imputation upon what is non-existent, and by abandoning the non-grasped well of denigration upon what is true. One should know that the ultimate nature of all dharmas is only the object of non-conceptual wisdom. If any dharma or thing becomes its own nature in the way that it is spoken of, then the nature of one dharma and one thing could become many different forms. Why is that? Because for one dharma and one thing, many people speak and impute many different names, and refer to them closely. Among the many different imputed names, whichever imputed name, for that dharma and that thing, would become its self and its own nature. But the other referring words are not, and there is no certainty about this. Therefore, all imputed names, whether all or some, will not become the self of all dharmas and all things, nor will they become its own nature. Furthermore, if the dharmas such as form, etc., which were previously mentioned, are ultimately not the nature of imputed names, then the things previously

Later, if it is attached with words of fondness, then before attaching with words of attachment, if it is not attached with words of attachment, then that dharma and that thing will only become devoid of inherent existence. If it becomes devoid of inherent existence, then it is not permissible to attach words of attachment to a non-existent thing. Even if there is no attachment with words of attachment, dharma and things are not allowed to exist in the nature of words of attachment. If the word of attachment is formless before the attachment, and is the nature of form, then even later, if it is attached to the nature of form with the form contained in the word of attachment, then even without the word of attachment called form, it will become a dharma called form, and a thing that becomes called form, which will not arise in the category that produces the concept of form. Therefore, one should understand through this reason and this logic that all dharmas are of an inexpressible nature. Just as with form, so too with feeling and so on, up to and including nirvana, one should understand the dharmas that have been taught in this way. Dharmas such as form, and things such as form, do not have their own characteristics by the nature of the words of attachment, and whatever is fabricated and clung to, and the basis of the name of the word of attachment, which becomes the basis of the name of the word of attachment, exists truly by its inexpressible nature. Whatever slanders and degrades the true thing by saying that it does not exist in all of everything, these two should be known to be far removed from this Dharma and Discipline. Whatever faults there are in fabricating what does not exist, those have been examined and clarified from the beginning, and have been analyzed and shown, and because of those faults, by fabricating that things such as form do not exist, it should be known to be far removed from this Dharma and Discipline. How can it be said that even the mere things of dharmas such as form are slandered and completely degraded, and how will that be far removed from this Dharma and Discipline? It should be explained in that way.
