This is an explanation of the meaning of the great Gapa's Compendium of Abhidharma. Even so, the unborn dharma cannot be clearly revealed, and if there are no forms, etc., why are there no eight consciousnesses? Everything is, and it is also a thing, because in the continuum of those who are not omniscient, the thing of the eight consciousnesses is separate from it. Why is that? Because the self-mind of all beings cannot tolerate the nature of the eight consciousnesses being suchness itself. How is it? Because, the grasped and the grasper are completely abandoned, and they are equal in the selflessness of dharmas, therefore all dharmas are equal in the nature of selflessness, which is because they are separated from the grasped and the grasper. As it says in the Commentary on Valid Cognition: For things that have various appearances, if it is not reasonable to be one, then, for the time being, that mind is one, how can it appear as many? How, how to think about the meaning, in that way, in that way, completely separate. Whatever the wise have said is a true teaching. How does one thing become many? It will not become that mind either. If you want this self's meaning, then what do I do for it? Therefore, for meaning and consciousness, coarse appearances are not themselves. Because it is blocked on one, it does not exist on many either. Complete cutting is inside, others exist like the outside. Separating the inseparable consciousness is disturbed by different appearances. When there is not even one in it, both will disappear. Therefore, both are emptiness, that is its very nature. These things exist differently, they are different supports and ways. That is false, but those differences are also false. From the aspect of the grasped and the grasper, there is no other characteristic. Therefore, because the characteristic is emptiness, it is well explained as being without self-nature. So it is said. Then, it means that the reasoning of the equality of selflessness of dharmas has not been established, which is after cutting off the conceptual thoughts of the beings to be tamed by Vairochana. The indestructible vajra of all the Tathagatas is the nature of the Dharmadhatu without beginning or end, like a mirror-like wisdom. From that, these unborn things are not considered to be the nature of the grasped and the grasper, therefore they are

It is not the Dharma that was just spoken, nor is it the Dharma-nature that is universally present. Therefore, the reason is not unestablished. Then, just as the sky is without elaboration and without conceptualization, selflessness is merely the nature of consciousness, and it is the means of the path to enlightenment that should be cultivated, because it is established by valid cognition. As it is said by the teacher Dignāga: This is only consciousness, its nature is completely pure. Ultimate truth is non-dual, there is no entity, likewise it is also selflessness. Emptiness is also the realm of Dharma, the true limit is inexpressible, Dharma-nature and without characteristics, that is called the true meaning. The entities of cause and effect are not established by valid cognition. All entities are unborn, the Victorious Ones have taught with compassion. From following and reversing, if it is established by that, then it is established. Because of direct perception and non-apprehension, those are momentary. Because it does not abide, it is not grasping. The two moments connected with that. What is cause and effect? That is the direction of emptiness. What is the cause and what is the result? That which grasps is the grasper. The one without cause and without result, that entity is definite. The cause does not exist at the time of the result, because it is momentary and because it is destroyed. There is no result at the time of the cause either, because it would be simultaneous. In the ultimate sense, one cause is not, many results are not. If it were one cause, it would be the agent without dependence. Therefore, the eyes and so on, would not be stained by their own minds. At that time there would be no blindness and so on, all beings would become empty. Many are also not reasonable, because it is the cause of one result. If the causes are different, the result is, without distinction, non-existent in the cause. Since the result is also its nature, if it is desired to be different, how can one become different? One and otherness are both lost, whatever is said by the wise, those distinctions do not exist in the ultimate sense. The faults of the results being separate and different have been declared before. The cause of existence, non-existence, self and other, the consideration of arising from both, because the unmade treatises increase. Because of clarity.
