And also attachment, selflessness, and with sorrowful words of suffering, make sentient beings who manifestly rejoice in samsara weary. The noble ones also cause them to enter the Dharma and Vinaya. In order to subdue the sentient beings to be subdued who are separated from desire, the characteristics of the ordinary are described as being separated from desire. As it is said in the Pramāṇavārttika: Like sandalwood and sandal wood, for those who dwell equally in all, it is called detachment. Because of destroying acceptance and rejection. Thus it is said. Because they are not vessels for manifesting great bliss. As it is said in the Śrīparamādya: By detachment, the world is subdued, only by detachment is it purified. Great desire is great bliss, hidden by Vajrasattva. Thus it is said. In the Buddha's teachings, the teaching of detachment is for the purpose of purifying it. Why is that? Because the heretics are liberated by the Dharma of detachment. The liberation of the Tathāgatas is due to following attachment to all sentient beings. For example, Bodhisattvas even use their own wives to gather sentient beings. Desire also symbolizes Bodhi, as it is said in the Trailokyavijaya Tantra. I prostrate to the one who is attached with desire, I prostrate to the desireless one who is attached, I prostrate, I prostrate to the desireless one. Thus, from the arrangement of the Vajra secret adornment of the body, speech, and mind of all the Tathāgatas. People's minds are diverse, and the Victorious Ones gather them accordingly. One must pass through the three vehicles, and abide in the fruit of the one vehicle. Depending on samsara and nirvana, among the joys of faith, complete purity pervades beings. Mind-born peace is without leakage. Therefore, it is praised with five kinds of bliss, vast, constant, and supreme bliss. This nature of wisdom and means is determined by valid cognition and scripture. Buddha-nature is one, but the objects to be tamed are different according to their inclinations. Therefore, after saying the secret union of Vajrapani, if others are not Buddhas, then it is said from the bindu of the extremely secret treasury, and it is established by reason and scripture. From the Bodhisattva-bhūmi, the noble Asaṅga also said that

These are the five kinds of happiness: the happiness of cause, the happiness of feeling, the happiness of the antidote to suffering, the happiness of the cessation of feeling, and the happiness of harmlessness. Among them, the two, the basis and the object, of the side of happiness, and whatever awareness that arises from that cause and transforms feeling into happiness, and whatever action that produces the desired result in this life or in future lives, whatever it may be, all of that, when combined into one, is called the happiness of cause, and there is nothing higher or more superior than this. Without relying on the complete pacification of suffering, the experience that arises from those three causes that are included in the happiness of cause, and that benefits the body and mind, is called the happiness of feeling, and that can also be briefly summarized into two types: with outflows and without outflows. Among them, what is without outflows is learning. What is with outflows is the three realms, associated with the desire realm, the form realm, and the formless realm. That also, as appropriate, from the distinctions of the six sense sources of all the three realms, that is, from the contact that arises from the union of the eye up to the contact that arises from the union of the mind. Those six types also transform into two types: bodily and mental. Among them, that which is associated with the five aggregates of consciousness is bodily. That which is associated with the consciousness of the mind is mental. For the many kinds of suffering such as cold, heat, hunger, thirst, and the various and numerous occurrences, one should pacify the suffering of cold, heat, hunger, thirst, etc., with antidotes, and the mere pacification of suffering, the arising of the thought of happiness in that very moment, is called the happiness of the antidote to suffering. Entering into the meditative absorption of the cessation of perception and feeling is called the happiness of the cessation of feeling. The happiness of harmlessness, in brief, should be understood as four types: the happiness of manifest arising, the happiness of extreme solitude, the happiness of near pacification, and the happiness of perfect enlightenment. Among them, having gone forth from home to homelessness with faith, only doing good, completely renouncing, and being definitely liberated from the various sufferings of household life, is the happiness of manifest arising.
