Or, secondly, when reciting mantras, the nectar is integrated into them, so that the mantra and nectar become inseparable. From this, rays of five colors emanate, or from each of these, rays with twenty-five different colors emanate. The summoning, gathering, and integration are done as before. Furthermore, the order of emission and absorption is also explained, namely, the emission and absorption of speech syllables, mind hand gestures, and body seals. When the yogi enjoys these, he will also attain the accomplishments of speech, mind, and body in the same way. How does one enjoy them? "One should enjoy by means of eating." That is, one should visualize on one's tongue a vase of a five-pronged vajra arising from a white Hūṃ (Tibetan: ཧཱུྃ, Sanskrit Devanagari: हुं, Sanskrit Romanization: hūṃ, Literal Chinese meaning: Hum), and bless the nectar as white Oṃ (Tibetan: ཨོཾ, Sanskrit Devanagari: ओं, Sanskrit Romanization: oṃ, Literal Chinese meaning: Om), and by eating it, one should please all the inner mandalas. Secondly, one should do as stated in the Lasso of Means, which should be understood as the ritual of the inner homa. Thirdly, one should place three syllables on the upper palate, lower palate, and tongue, and then eat them. The opponent says: Since meat and excrement have been explicitly mentioned, why is it that only in this way can accomplishment be achieved? If those sentient beings enjoy those, why do they appear to be powerless? The answer is: These also need to be examined for their causes and so forth, properly blessed, and through the emission and absorption of recitation, signs and marks appear, and by combining the hands and mouth and tongue, and relying on and eating them, accomplishment is achieved. If one eats them casually like others, it is not possible to achieve accomplishment. The opponent says: Then these are transformed in this way. If one does the same with other foods and edibles, will they not be accomplished? The answer is: By blessing other things, accomplishment can also be achieved in the same way, but for certain needs, these particular usages are specifically pointed out. Why is that? Why is it specifically pointed out that these are needed? Because outsiders, Śrāvakas, and those who have no instructions on food, and who abstain from meat and live on the three whites (milk, yogurt, ghee), and who regard the five nectars as impure and reject them, therefore do not believe that accomplishment is possible, and Brahmins and others who are born into high castes have preferences regarding food and drink.
