Emptiness is wisdom, its own nature is method. Thus it is said. Samatha and vipassana are equally combined, or the combination of signs and non-signs is not a combination, the image of unobstructed wisdom, appearing as the hand seal of the father method, and the image of the nature of reality free from elaboration, appearing as the body of the wisdom mother, the two equally enter or dwell in union, which is called union. That is, the meaning of inseparability or equal union. In order to clarify its meaning, whatever is emptiness is wisdom, whatever appears as the attire of a goddess, but like the image in a mirror or the color of a rainbow, it is clear and without self-nature, that is, abandoning the object of signs, in this tantra, it refers to the goddess Mamaki and others who reside in the mandala. From the main deity in the center of the mandala to the wrathful deity guarding the gate, the forms of their respective wisdoms, the families and body colors and hand seals that become the gate of liberation, and the characteristics of decorations and attire, etc., are clearly visible and have the form of holding the four limbs of recitation and practice, which is the method. Those fathers and mothers also consider the meaning realm and wisdom to be inseparable, so the symbols of fathers and mothers, method and wisdom, are also inseparable and embrace each other, which is called union. If we explain it in terms of the meaning of the tantra, it is for the benefit of others, and it is known by all and turns into a collection of merits. The appearance of more signs is the method. The essence is without self-nature, and it turns into the essence of the collection of wisdom. It is known by oneself, and the appearance of more non-signs is to be known as wisdom. It is also united and inseparable, and one is complete in the nature of one, so it is said to be union. If it is applied to the general principle, each Appearing to have its own characteristics is the method, and realizing that it has no self-nature is wisdom. It is also that wisdom has no self-nature and the method appears to have signs, and the nature of the appearance of the method with signs is realized to be without self-nature, that is, knowing without distinction is called union. Now the fifth question, what is called tantra? The answer to the question is that there are three types of tantra.

Verse: Basis and nature are pure, and differences are gathered. Pure basis and means, accomplish the meaning of the three continuums. Thus and so forth have been spoken. Among them, what is called "Tantra" should be known as the general name for the Secret Assembly, complete from beginning to end. It is characterized by the confusion of the tantra, the constriction of speech, and the concealment of key instructions. Although it is established as such, it constantly reveals all the necessary meanings, such as mandalas, practices, and activities large and small, so it is called "Tantra." The former refers to the actual nature of the tantra, and the latter refers to the actual objects of meaning arising from it. Moreover, in other scriptures, it is said to be constant and continuous, or there are compilers and others who transmit it in order, or it is taught for the purpose of taming the minds of beings, so it is called "Tantra." This is also like the analogy of weaving cloth: not 끊어진, fulfilling needs, interlaced up and down, sewn into clothing. Just as the thread is 끊어진, the letters are also 끊어진; just as the loom fulfills needs, the favorable conditions for the accomplishment of individuals, samaya, mandala, initiation, practice, activities, and offerings are all fulfilled in the tantra; just as a tamed child led by the nose is interlaced up and down, the meaning of the tantra is also taught in an interlaced manner; just as weaving and other things are sewn into clothing, if one practices with those favorable conditions, one can accomplish Buddhahood, possessing four meanings, so it is called "Tantra." Among them, there are three types of tantra. Thus, the definition of tantra has been spoken. The overall meaning or nature of the beginning and end of that tantra should be known to be threefold. What are they? Basis, nature, and gathering of differences. Moreover, if speaking in terms of the meaning of the tantra, the basis refers to the first chapter, and pure nature refers to the second chapter up to completion, encompassing all the meanings of the beginning and end of this tantra. What is called difference refers to the fact that within each chapter of the tantra, there are also various differences in mandalas, initiations, activities, and practices, which are shown separately in many ways. What is called gathering refers to the fact that if one summarizes the many meanings that are shown, they can be summarized into those three types.
