Having placed it near the ear, make it inseparable with mudras such as the lasso and iron hook, and mantras, and then nail the mantra stake into the three places of speech, the throat, similarly, the place of mind, the heart, and the place of body, the crown of the head, making the three doors without support. How to nail with the stake that has been meditated upon? One should meditate on the three forms of body, speech, and mind vajra, and nail with the blessed stake. Furthermore, in order to repeatedly create harm to the one to be subdued, to eliminate the harm caused by non-humans to the beings residing in various places, and to benefit them with great compassion, as it is said in the scripture: When epidemic diseases approach, when various disasters occur in the place, one should nail these into that image, and nail these with one's own stake. That is to say, when cold and hot epidemics, and diseases caused by the mixture of wind, bile, and phlegm approach beings, and when various faults such as similar situations or conflicts occur in the place, one should also draw and summon them with the gathering of samadhi, and mudras, iron hooks, etc., and with their mantras, and nail them and make them inseparable from the previously mentioned image, and these should also be nailed with one's own stake, that is, with the body, speech, and mind vajra stake, or in another way, with the stakes that are in accordance with the respective subduing methods of the twelve stake tantras. In order to indicate the methods of other subtle activities, as it is said in the scripture: Thereafter, all actions, as the ritual says, methods and combining tantras, etc., should be applied to the differences of activities. Thereafter, refers to the immediate situation, that is, after starting those activities mentioned in what place, or subsequently wanting to start any combination of major and minor activities, then the method of starting all these is: as the ritual says in the root tantra or other sadhana, methods and combining tantras, etc. That is to say, how to start and practice the method of activity, and the intention of samadhi that combines for what purpose, and the vow substances included in the word "etc.", and how to accumulate utensils and tormas, etc., gather these together.

Therefore, whatever great or small category of activity, such as pacifying, is undertaken, it should be combined and arranged as desired. For that very purpose, it is said: "Recite while pressing the symbol, or perform a fire offering in the mandala of a wrathful deity, or meditate on a malicious sentient being, one should examine what to consume." This means that on cloth wrapped around a corpse, or on thatch, paper, or tree leaves such as those of the flax plant or tala palm, one writes an image of a form, or a name, or charcoal from a cemetery, or soil from an anthill, or soil from a footprint, etc., and makes a linga that is a symbol of the form. The yogi presses down on its body and limbs with his foot or hand implements, summoning and tormenting it, and reciting mantras of killing. Or, not only is this done through the sound of action, but there are other methods as well, namely, performing a fire offering in the mandala of a wrathful deity, performing the activity of burning that includes offerings and the form of what is to be killed, or applying to meditation a concentration that hates vows and is malicious towards sentient beings, summoning and killing, and examining the consumption of flesh and blood should also be combined with the category of activity. In order to avoid misunderstanding any of the four activities that are done, it is said: "For pacifying, one should have a pacifying mind; for increasing, one should also have an increasing mind; for subjugation, one should have a mind of attachment; accomplish with wrathful and violent syllables." This means that when performing a pacifying activity, one accumulates white substances and implements, and endowed with the concentration of a pacifying mind, one pacifies harm to oneself and others, national wars, outbreaks of disease and epidemics, and all the suffering and afflictions of the three lower realms. When performing an increasing activity, one accumulates yellow substances and implements, and endowed with the concentration of increasing, one causes the Buddha's teachings, life, glory, power, enjoyment, wealth, and all excellent qualities to increase and expand. When performing a subjugating activity, one accumulates red substances and implements, and manifests a concentration endowed with a mind of attachment. One subdues those who do not harm oneself, those who harm, asuras, and malicious nagas, etc., and gives them vows. When performing a fierce activity, one accumulates black substances and implements, and accomplishes it with wrathful and violent syllables.
