It is said that it is wonderful that it is neither the same nor different. Why? In the true conventional, samsara abides in the nature of being completely afflicted, and nirvana abides in the nature of being completely purified. Sentient beings in samsara abide in the nature of being compounded and defiled, and the Tathagata abides in the nature of being uncompounded and undefiled, so they are not the same. If one realizes the meaning of the suchness of the nature of sentient beings, then samsara itself is nirvana. Sentient beings who are compounded and defiled appear as the uncompounded and undefiled body of the Buddha, and the body and wisdom of the Buddha pervade all things of vessel and essence, so they appear as the realm of experience of those in samsara. Or, although sentient beings appear as the realm of experience of samsara, because the nature of nirvana is inherently present in themselves, they become Buddhas from sentient beings, and the Buddhas themselves appear as sentient beings, so it is said that it is wonderful that they are neither the same nor different. Alas! The senses are extremely peaceful! This is to boast and marvel that it is very difficult to realize that meaning. The dharmas of samsara and nirvana are neither the same nor different, and that is not the realm of experience of the senses, because it cannot be known by consciousness. Why? Because it is extremely or very peaceful and subtle. Just as the eye sees forms, the ear hears sounds, the nose smells odors, the tongue tastes flavors, the body touches tangible objects, or the mind clearly discerns, there are no manifestly established objects like those, so it is not possible to make them objects of experience like those. Or, because there is no object of experience at all in this, it is shown to be beyond the senses. Because the nature of nirvana does not exist, it is peaceful and subtle, but why is samsara, which has the appearance of characteristics, appearing gross, beyond the realm of experience of the senses?

If one recognizes that the very nature appears as such, then that itself is the nature of nirvana, therefore it is shown as the nature of all bodies and wisdoms, so it is called beyond the realm of the senses. Secondly, it is to pursue the meaning of the higher: Emaho, samsara exists in the continuum of dependent origination, therefore the object and mind appear as different grasper and grasped, this is because the delusion of mind appears as the object, so it is seen as a sign. If one realizes that the mind has no self-nature, then the object will not be established as a sign. Therefore, the very separation of object and mind from grasper and grasped is nirvana, which is very wonderful. This is how it is shown. If we speak from the aspect of the profound, Emaho, it is very wonderful! What is it? This is the secret gathering tantra that shows that all dharmas are inseparable from the nature of body, speech, and mind. Why is there wonder at this? It is called the senses are extremely peaceful, that is, if one recognizes that all the appearances of form and so on that fall into the realm of the five senses such as the eye, and the three grades of superior, medium, and inferior qualities of desire, are the nature of the three vajras of body, speech, and mind, are the gods of desirable qualities, are the nature of the form vajra mother and so on, then one will definitely not be bound, and will become free and liberated, therefore it is called extremely peaceful, that is, it will not become a coarse affliction, but will become extremely peaceful and subtle wisdom. Therefore, it is called wonderful because it teaches such a meaning, or because it is the cause of having meaning. Then, if one practices through other paths and antidotes, and without modification, will one achieve it in the same way by meditating like this? If it can be achieved, then how should the practitioner achieve it in this way? Therefore it is said: Emaho, the continuum of samsara! Emaho, the supreme nirvana! The meaning of Emaho is that meditating like this can eliminate all the faults of samsara, this is to show this and feel proud and wonderful. Why? Because when the four conditions of knowledge gather, the senses and consciousness will also see and generate the nature of the three afflictions in the objects. And, because the objects and senses will also generate the three afflictions from consciousness, and plant the habits on the alaya consciousness, therefore the dharma of samsara will arise and increase.
