That which causes the arising of all grounds, just as the cause is without inherent existence, so too, the appearance of the deity of the mandala as the result is also without inherent existence, because it is not established as a solid entity, therefore it is said to be uncollectible. Secondly, the lineage and the deity are such that one lineage transforms into one, and a part of one's result abides separately. Whatever cause is without inherent existence, it becomes powerful, and from that the result is accomplished. That too is without inherent existence, i.e., it is not collectible like a solid entity. Although it appears and can be expressed in conventional truth, it cannot be expressed in ultimate truth and is shown to be unfindable. So, can a result without inherent existence arise from a cause without inherent existence? The answer is: From illusion it is said, "Emaho! Wondrous and marvelous Dharma, the secret of all perfect Buddhas, from the unborn, all arise, and when arisen, there is no birth." The meaning of what is said is that, through the power of samadhi, and the blessing of wisdom, and the power of mantra, and the skill of wisdom, and the aspiration of the past, and the power of the compassion of illusion, it is possible to arise in that way. In order to show the meaning and nature as such, in that tantra, all the teachings of many or few lineages are included, therefore it is said: "The lineages are the five Tathagatas and the three, the essence is one and the lineages are a hundred, together with the Bodhi Vajra." This is said, and that is considered the guru of the tantras. Among them, what is called lineage, its own essence, is considered by the tenets of this vehicle to be the purification of the afflictions themselves as the place of abiding. In that explanation, the five refer to the five afflictions such as ignorance as the main ones. The three lineages refer to the three poisons as the main ones, the wish-fulfilling jewel lineage and the samaya vajra lineage are both included in the vajra lineage, and the body, speech, and mind lineages, i.e., the three. What is called one essence is said in the root tantra: "The great ocean of all afflictions." Thus, without the form of being divided into three, five, and a hundred lineages, it is the king or chief of all lineages, the totality of all Buddhas, the essence of the five wisdoms, and is called the Great Vajradhara. In the union tantra, it is said that all lineages are the lineage of Vajrasattva. The so-called hundred lineages are

The action is to make body, speech, and mind free, to make wisdom free, and to differentiate based on merit. Among these, differentiating based on body, speech, and mind, each of the five root families is divided into its body, speech, and mind, totaling fifteen. Each of these body, speech, and mind is divided into five wisdoms, totaling seventy-five. The five root fathers embrace the five mothers who are the mothers of wisdom and the adornments of merit, totaling one hundred in general. Differentiating based on wisdom, each of the five families is divided into five wisdoms, totaling twenty-five. Each of these is divided into three, body, speech, and mind, twenty-five times three, plus seventy-five, totaling one hundred in general. Differentiating based on merit, there are five families. Each family is divided into five, body, speech, mind, merit, and action, totaling twenty-five. Each of these corresponds to the four goddesses who are the mothers of wisdom, the merits of desire, and the adornments of Dharma-nature, thus totaling one hundred in general. Since the methods of differentiation are different, why are three names established? Although the five root families are the same, this is established by differentiating body, speech, and mind, and is spoken of as emphasizing body, speech, and mind. Secondly, each of the five root families is further divided into five, which is spoken of as emphasizing wisdom. Explaining the five desires as five families and showing that they are surrounded by a group of twenty-five four goddesses emphasizes merit. Therefore, three names are established because the methods of differentiation are different. In general, the Tathagatas and their body, speech, mind, merit, and actions are limitless, therefore wisdom is also limitless, as it is said. The phrase "spoken together with Bodhi Vajra, etc." means that the meaning of the tantra and the differentiation of families are together with the characteristics of Bodhi Vajra, or that Bodhicitta Vajra fully possesses the necessary meanings of the tantra, crown, and rope and speaks with meaning. The root tantra that continuously shows the cause, nature, and result is considered the supreme of tantras. Secondly, this tantra spoken by the retinue of Tathagatas to dispel the doubts of the Bodhisattvas is the sequel to the root tantra of the supreme tantra.
