Having meditated thoroughly on the arising of these in order, having hooked with an iron hook and bound with a snare, etc., all the objects of mind together with the body, one should establish the wheel of the peg in the mandala of the deity of one's own lineage, as it is taught. Furthermore, in order to teach other than that ritual, with the substances mentioned, having made an image of that, with a mind pervaded by wrath, one should press down on the sign with the foot. Thus it is said, etc. As it was said earlier in the root tantra, with substances such as an anthill, charcoal from a charnel ground, and earth from footprints, having accumulated them, one should make an image of whatever is to be subdued. With a mind meditating in the samadhi of any wrathful deity, having pressed down completely on the linga of the form of the sign with my foot, then the wrathful deities who have received the command, surrounded by various assemblies, the Vajra-holder who practices, should send them forth to kill the one to be subdued. Thus it is said. That is also as it is said in the root tantra, having taken it from the union of my father and mother, and having invited all the assemblies of the ten directions with a wheel of light, having arrived before me, the wrathful deities ask me for instructions, saying, "What should we do?" Thus, the retinue swirling with nectar, the wrathful deities and wrathful goddesses, the leaders, the messengers, the leader goddesses, the male predators, the female predators, the male and female birds, etc., with different forms and various garbs, surround oneself with assemblies that are terrifying and make one's hair stand on end, and for that very reason, having been surrounded by that king of wrathful deities, he binds and strikes that one, and then the practitioner hooks the one who has been beaten and terrified. Thus it is said. Then, the assemblies of wrathful deities and wrathful goddesses, having bound the body of the one to be subdued with snares, iron chains, etc., and having struck fiercely with clubs and mallets, etc., having terrified the continuum of body and mind, immediately with the action of iron hooks, etc., one should hook and draw the one to be subdued. What does that do? With the mantra of the three vajras, having subdued it onto that image, the mantra-holder with vajras, on the crown of the head, the throat, the heart, with the mantra of the peg

To drive the stake. Thus it is said, having established the previously spoken image, with the lasso and iron hook, etc., the mudra and mantra are made inseparable, and at the place of speech, the throat, and likewise at the place of mind, the heart, and at the place of body, the crown of the head, these three places are nailed with the mantra stake, making the three doors without support. How are they nailed with the stake of meditation? They should be nailed with the stake that has been meditated as the three forms of body, speech, and mind vajra, and blessed. Furthermore, in order to repeatedly cause harm to the one to be subdued, and to eliminate the harm caused by non-humans to the sentient beings dwelling in various places, and to benefit them with great compassion, it is said: When epidemics closely afflict, and all kinds of disasters occur in the land, nail that image, and nail them with your own stake. Thus it is said, when epidemics of heat and cold, and diseases arising from the combination of wind, bile, and phlegm closely afflict sentient beings, and all kinds of faults such as these or conflicts occur in the land, also with the gathering of samadhi, the mudra, iron hook, etc., and having drawn and summoned them with its mantra, nail them to the previously spoken image, making them inseparable, and they should also be nailed with their own stake, that is, with the stake of body, speech, and mind vajra, or in another way, with those stakes spoken of in accordance with the means of subduing each of the twelve stake tantras. In order to indicate the means of other subtle activities, it is said: Thereafter, all the means, as the ritual is spoken, the means and union tantra, etc., are combined in the distinctions of activities. Thus it is said, "Thereafter," "thereafter" refers to immediately following, whether it is immediately following the commencement of those activities spoken of in whatever place, or the means of commencing any large or small activity that one wishes to commence subsequently are: as the ritual is spoken in the root tantra or other sadhana, the means and union tantra, etc., thus it is said, the means of how the activity is commenced and practiced, and the thought continuum of the samadhi that is combined for the purpose of what is aimed at, and the pledge substances and implements included by the word "etc."

Collect things of the same color as the mandala, and according to the type of activity performed, whether it is a major or minor pacifying activity, it should be arranged and displayed as desired. For this very reason, it is said in the scripture: "Recite while pressing down with a mudra, or perform a fire offering in the mandala of a wrathful deity, one should examine the eating with a mind of malice." This means that on a cloth wrapped around a corpse, or on thatch, paper, or trees (such as maple leaves or betel palm leaves), write down something like a symbolic mark or a name, or use charcoal from a cemetery, soil from an anthill, soil from a footprint, etc., to make a lingam with a symbolic mark. The yogi presses down on its body and limbs with his feet or mudras, performing summoning and tormenting, and reciting the mantra of killing. The word "do" indicates that not only is this the only method, but there are other methods as well. What are they? It is to perform a fire offering in the mandala of a wrathful deity, performing the burning activity that includes offerings and the image of what is to be accomplished, or to summon and kill with a meditation that hates vows and is malicious towards sentient beings, and the eating of flesh and blood should also be combined with the type of activity. In order to avoid misunderstandings when performing any of the four activities, it is said in the scripture: "For pacifying, one should have a pacifying mind; for increasing, one should also have an increasing mind; for subjugation, one should have a mind of attachment; and one should accomplish it with violent syllables." This means that when performing a pacifying activity, one should prepare white objects and utensils, as well as the three sweets, and with a meditation that possesses a pacifying mind, one should pacify harm to oneself and others, wars in the country, diseases and epidemics, and all the suffering and afflictions of the three lower realms. When performing an increasing activity, one should prepare yellow objects and utensils, and with a meditation that possesses an increasing mind, one should increase and expand the Buddha's teachings, life, glory, power, enjoyment, wealth, and all good qualities. When performing a subjugating activity, one should prepare red objects and utensils, and manifest a meditation with a mind of attachment. Subjugate those who do not harm oneself, those who harm, asuras, and malicious nagas, and bestow vows. When performing a fierce activity, one should prepare objects and utensils.
