This means that appearance and establishment are not outside the realm of (wisdom). Now, the twenty-sixth question: Why is it said to be the "End of the Lord of Death"? The answer is: The indestructible self-nature Dharma, the essence of non-birth, the oath of all phenomena, therefore it can end the Lord of Death. It is said like this. For example, worldly people think that things and characteristics are subject to birth and death, and because they are influenced by the concept of birth and death, they are born and perish. In order to refute the notion that the Lord of Death, the King of Dharma, destroys the aggregates and cuts off life due to ignorance, it is said, "The indestructible self-nature Dharma," meaning that the appearance of body and mind, etc., is indestructible because one realizes the meaning of the self-nature Dharma being unborn, and understands that the essence of all Dharmas being unborn becomes power. If one understands the self-nature of all things in this way, one will not transcend the realm of non-birth and non-death. Therefore, it is said, "The oath of all phenomena," meaning that for this reason, it is said to be the "End of the Lord of Death," which is to end the notion that the Lord of Death destroys the aggregates and cuts off life. Having a nature that is free from birth and death is the essence of what is called Yamantaka (Tibetan: ཡ་མཱནྟ་ཀྲྀཏ་, Sanskrit Devanagari: यमन्तकृत, Sanskrit Romanization: yamāntakṛta, Chinese literal meaning: Death Ender), and it shows the nature of the wrathful deity corresponding to it. Now, the twenty-seventh question: How is "Wisdom's End"? The answer is: The non-discriminating self-nature Dharma, the supreme letter, the oath of all minds, therefore it can accomplish the end of wisdom. It is said like this. Worldly people distinguish themselves from their own kind by means of mental recollection and verbal expression, and know the differences in sounds, but because they do not understand its selflessness, they cannot truly understand the meaning of Dharma-nature, and therefore cannot see the true meaning. In order to refute this notion, it is said, "The non-discriminating self-nature Dharma," meaning that it is impossible to distinguish things contained by name and form, because self-nature can distinguish its own characteristics separately, so it will not be destroyed. Because one understands that all Dharmas are the essence of self-nature emptiness, and abides in its self-nature without changing, it is called a letter. If expressed in Sanskrit as Akshara (Sanskrit Devanagari: अक्षर, Sanskrit Romanization: akṣara), it means immutable.
