Therefore, by the sequence of self-blessing, one will attain luminosity. Therefore, the Vajra Acharya should first show me the blessing. Thus it is said. Or, self-blessing is the cause, and naturally luminous is the result, and in that order one realizes it. This very tantra states that the Vajra Acharya should first show the disciple the sequence of self-blessing. Therefore, in relation to the third stage, the second stage is the cause and the third is the result. Similarly, the third stage is the cause and peace is the result. Therefore, self-blessing is both the cause and the result. Luminosity is both the cause and the result, this is the established tenet. This shows that there is no entity of cause and effect for anything, because all things are dependent. Therefore, whatever is dependent is controlled by others, and that is without self-nature. Now, in order to explain that beings do not fully understand the illusion-like nature, and the cause of it, it is said: All beings are without autonomy, they do not arise autonomously, the cause of this is luminosity, all luminosity is empty. Thus it is said. Because all these beings do not understand the illusion-like nature, they arise from dependent origination. And autonomy is the opposite of this, if one realizes the nature of illusion and so on, it will not arise, because it is obstructed by sudden defilements. Then, if sudden defilements are able to make it non-autonomous, then are they different or non-different from it? If they are different, then the result, the illusion-like samadhi, and the cause, luminosity, will become different. This is also not desirable, because its pervasiveness will be lost. If they are non-different, then, because the entity is one, both cause and effect will become defiled. Here it is said that these defilements cannot be described by difference or non-difference, because the nature of luminosity and self-blessing is completely pure, so it is not different. Even if these defilements are its nature, it is also karma and

Because it appears as the form of the fruit, it should not be said to be non-different either. Well, if that is the case, how should the terms bondage and liberation be explained? We say that it is due to not fully understanding and being done by something other than that. Then, from what does that arise? It is said: Like forgetting a child who was born from the production of self-nature and ignorantly placed on the shoulder. Similarly, confusion arises because of similarity, like mistaking a rope for a snake. Therefore, just like that example, whatever the nature of illusion is, it appears as different from it, and its cause is only luminosity, so as previously stated, everything is said to be emptiness. Now, in order to explain the nature of bondage and liberation, (the text says:) By whatever mind the children are bound, causing them to be bound in samsara, by that same mind the yogis go to the state of the Sugatas. It is said here that children are those who do not understand the nature of illusion, their own group and the groups of others, and samsara is the nature of the five types of beings. By whatever mind they are bound, that mind, because it realizes the nature of illusion, attains the state of bliss of the Sugatas of yoga. Because the nature of self and appearance is samsara, fully understanding that illusory nature or understanding its cause is liberation. If all of these are like illusions, then how do birth and death appear separately? In order to explain that they do not appear separately, (the text says:) Here there is no birth, nor is there any death, the nature of mind always abides, know that samsara is just like that. It is said here that if we analyze the form of fire that arises from the actions of rubbing sticks and a person's hand, it does not arise from anywhere, but because the causes and conditions are complete, it appears as if it arises. That which arises from completeness is not arising, as it is said: That which arises from that and that dependent, that is not truly arising, that which has never arisen by nature, how can that be arising? Here is how it is applied: all things are all dharmas, and birth and death.
