and, some believe in the Suchness of non-abiding Nirvana. If things are analyzed in detail, then the Suchness that transcends the Dharmakaya is not entirely another, because there is a difference. Therefore, the realization of Suchness is the real realization, and if it is realized, then all paths will be realized. Due to the difference in the basis, the views are also different, but Suchness is not like that. Otherwise, it would not just be Suchness. As it is said: The Dharmadhatu is without distinction, the distinction of lineages is not reasonable. The difference of the based Dharma, therefore separately explains its meaning. Because it says so. Now, in order to explain that asceticism and so on should not be regarded as Suchness only for that purpose. Wearing matted hair, naked, touching the head to the ground, wearing a crown, gathering, abandoning and entering, those with various signs, and those who want to attain enlightenment. It is said like this. One who keeps a single lock of hair is a rational ascetic. Nakedness is the ascetic of behavior. Touching the head to the ground are monks and novices, etc. Wearing a crown is a layperson who abides in the five precepts. Gathering, abandoning and entering are the yogis of the tailors. Those with various signs, refer to the signs of the merits of practicing asceticism, etc. Those who have asceticism as their characteristic, only want to attain enlightenment, they are not striving for other purposes. In order to explain that asceticism alone is not the cause of obtaining Suchness, it is said: Those who lack Suchness, the order of actions such as asceticism, because of the lack of wisdom of Suchness, therefore will not obtain liberation because of this. It is said like this. If those who keep matted hair, etc. lack Suchness, then at that time their order of practicing asceticism, etc. is completely meaningless, just like carrying a heavy burden. Therefore, since there is no Suchness, asceticism, etc. will not obtain liberation because of this. It is also said in the Four Seats Tantra: Yoga without Suchness is like the sound of an elephant's bell. Therefore, fully understanding Suchness is the cause of liberation, asceticism, etc.

Even without it, it is for the sake of realizing that Suchness. If there is no Suchness, then asceticism and the like become meaningless, like carrying a burden for nothing. Teaching asceticism and the like is for the sake of uprightness. It is to attract sentient beings who are attached to it. Therefore, even without asceticism, one should manifest that Suchness. Now, in order to explain the stages of the bhumis, it is said: "Initially, through the combination of karma, the eighth bhumi will be attained. If one sees the three appearances, one will be firmly established on the tenth bhumi." The initial karma practitioner is the yogi of the generation stage. Their combination is the practice of the three samadhis, beginning with the initial combination. Through whatever is the extreme of bodily isolation, the eighth bhumi, the Immovable, will be attained. In essence, through the sequence of vajra recitation, the ninth bhumi is attained, and because one sees the three appearances and becomes the master of wisdom, the tenth bhumi is attained. Because it is obtained from karma afterwards, the illusory body is only the tenth bhumi. Through the fourth in sequence, the eleventh, the All-Illuminating bhumi, is attained. Afterwards, through the wisdom obtained from karma, the body of the vajra body is only the eleventh bhumi. The bhumi of the initial karma practitioner is attained through meditating on the abode of Brahma and the like. Thus, there are twelve bhumis. By meditating on the being of bliss and swift awareness, whoever attains Buddhahood in this very life, that is said to be the thirteenth bhumi. Now, in order to explain what the youthful Sarvarthasiddha did after attaining that Suchness, it is said: "Having perfectly attained manifest enlightenment, one approaches the pure abode. Because one does not turn back from the Buddha-field, one knows all in this very life." It is said that Shakyamuni Buddha, having attained manifest enlightenment, worked for the benefit of sentient beings. The pure abode should be understood as the abode of the noble ones. The Buddha-field is the nature of complete purity, and because one does not turn back there, one attains omniscience in this very life, which is the meaning of uprightness. The Bodhi of manifest faith is that by seeing external mirages and the like, one manifests the manifest enlightenment of one's inner nature, the pure abode is only one's own mind, and going is abiding therein. The Buddha is true wisdom.
