Those (actions) that express reverence and so on, by which one can realize the meanings of Vairochana and so on, that is the meaning of mantra. Symbols are just symbols, such as emanation and so on. That is the symbol of mantra. Which is the nature of the ultimate truth, the clear light, or the nature of A (Tibetan: ཨ, Sanskrit Devanagari: अ, Sanskrit Romanization: a, literal meaning: A), that is the Suchness of mantra. In order to explain that Suchness, (it is said): "The first one is in the middle of nine, what is not bound by ten, that is the unbound knowable, knowing that is the place of the supreme." It means that the yogi thus knows the place of the supreme. By what is it bound? Is it bound by the first vowel? Or, knowing the clear light that is not bound by the habits of samsara, its place of the supreme is knowing the verbal elaboration gathered by the nature of the first vowel. How to know? The so-called "first one" is both first and one, so it is the first one. Because it is the cause of producing vowels and consonants, it is the first. Or, because there is nothing earlier than it, it is the first. Because all letters merge into A (Tibetan: ཨ, Sanskrit Devanagari: अ, Sanskrit Romanization: a, literal meaning: A), it is the only one. The meaning of "in the middle of nine" is that the letter A (Tibetan: ཨ, Sanskrit Devanagari: अ, Sanskrit Romanization: a, literal meaning: A) is located in the middle of the nine parts of the vowel group. For example, ཨ་ཨེ་ཨོ་རྀ་ལྀ་ཨི་ཨུ་ཨཾ་, these eight short vowels are one part. Similarly, ཨཱ་ཨཻ་ཨཽ་རཱྀ་ལཱྀ་ཨཱི་ཨཱུ་ཨཱཿ, these eight long vowels are the second part. ཀ་ and so on up to མ་ are five parts. Finally, there are two parts: the nasal sound and the heat sound. It is located in the center of these nine parts. Without it, it is like being without life, unable to pronounce. The so-called "what is not bound by ten" refers to these nine parts and the self-nature, these ten, the clear light will not be bound by the conceptual thoughts of language. Or, because the self-nature is pure, and various conceptual thoughts are sudden, it will not be bound. Like this, whoever knows the Suchness of the vowel, that is, the letter A (Tibetan: ཨ, Sanskrit Devanagari: अ, Sanskrit Romanization: a, literal meaning: A) or what transcends it, whoever knows the place of the supreme, that is, knows the indestructible and immutable, which is the ultimate meaning. In order to explain this in detail, (it is said): "Vowels and consonants are letters, the number is...

U (ུ་) is a post-suffix letter. A (ཨ) connects and combines correctly with each other. Whoever knows it, he is the teacher of beings. It is said. There are sixteen vowels, and the consonants are from Ka (ཀ) to Ha (ཧ). The letters are Ya (ཡ), Ra (ར), La (ལ), Wa (ཝ), which are the four neuter letters. The number nine is a post-suffix letter. It is said, like the order mentioned before. Those connected by A (ཨ) are, the letter is connected by A (ཨ), whoever knows its nature, he will become the teacher of beings. Now, in order to explain the collection of mantras, it is correctly connected with the end of the place of origin. Cha (ཆ) and the other sixteen reside. The fifth is correctly connected with the fifth. Four must be combined with three. The letter Ā (ཨཱ) is connected with the long sound. The combination of merits is the same as later. All short sounds become speech. One is not two is not non-. It is said, the two Vajra Sutras explain the collection of mantras and the close gathering. Among them, the end of the place of origin is the letter Ha (ཧ). Cha (ཆ) and others are the letter A (ཨ). The sixteenth is A (ཨ) with stop and strong. Connecting the two, the letter becomes long Ā (ཨཱ). The fifth is correctly connected with the fifth, which refers to the fifth of the fifth group, which is the twenty-fifth, which is the letter Ma (མ). It becomes the following vowel and is connected to the letter Ha (ཧ) at the end of the place of origin. Four must be combined with three, which means adding four and three to become twelve letters. Connected with them, and existing in La (ལ), that is the thirteenth, which is the letter O (ཨོ). That is also the letter Aṃḥ (ཨཾཿ, Devanagari: Aṃḥ, IAST: Aṃḥ, Literal meaning: Aṃḥ), it should have a bindu (Devanagari: bindu, IAST: bindu, Literal meaning: bindu). Connected with the long sound means the end of the place of origin through meaning, and the long sound is connected with the letter U (ཨཱུ). The total is Om (唵, Devanagari: Oṃ, IAST: Oṃ, Literal meaning: Om), Ah (ཨཱཿ, Devanagari: Āḥ, IAST: Āḥ, Literal meaning: Ah), Hum (ཧཱུྃ, Devanagari: Hūṃ, IAST: Hūṃ, Literal meaning: Hum). This is the collection of mantras. In order to explain the close gathering, the combination of merits, etc., it is said. Merit is courage, dust, and darkness. These three are only three letters. Those combinations are connections, which should be the same as later. Its order is like this: Here, whichever is the three letters, each letter has three letters, and for all of them, the indestructible letter is universally present. Among them, the three that are first saluted are A (ཨ), U (ཨུ), and Ma (མ). The three of the Lord of Speech are
