Those "Po" etc., the first two arise from the entering consciousness, and the latter two should be known to arise from the afflicted mind and the Alaya consciousness. "By the distinction of the three wisdoms," etc., in this way, by the distinction of the three wisdoms, this should be combined with the Mind-Only school. For example, whatever is the reality of wind and mantra, that is the consciousness riding on the wind, because the consciousness riding on the chariot of wind generates movement. By this order, purify speech; by the second order, purify the subtle nature that has appearance as its cause; the difference has been shown. In order to examine to which disciple the order of Vajra recitation should be given, and to whom it should not be given, (it is said in the scripture:) "Do not speak the order of words to one who despises the guru, is deceitful, and has no faith; who is arrogant with mantra and filled with seeing scriptures; who has no faith and is inferior in empowerment." It means that even to a disciple like sandalwood, one should not speak of this order of words. What is that like? Despising the guru is a lazy person, a deceitful person is a false person, having no faith is a person who is repeatedly hateful, similarly, being arrogant just by knowing mantras is an arrogant person, similarly, seeing scriptures means that one thinks that one does not need to hear scriptures, does not need to hear, etc., and having no faith in one's heart is a person who does not like Dharma, an inferior empowerment is a person who has only received the empowerment of intelligence, and one should not show this order to a person who has not received the unsurpassed empowerment, because he is not a vessel. In order to explain the characteristics of a vessel, (it is said in the scripture:) "If one has respect and faith in the guru, and constantly strives to serve with desire, the supreme guru who hears and holds, there is no need to examine whether to bestow the guru's kindness on him." It means that for a person like a precious jewel, there is no need to examine whether one should bestow the guru's kindness, and one should quickly show the meaning of the order. What is it like? Having faith is to rejoice in the truth and the Three Jewels, etc., and similarly, respecting the guru is to respect the Vajra master.

Dwelling in stillness, similarly, hearing and upholding, for the Dharma spoken once, there is no forgetting, and it is upheld for as long as one lives. As it is said: "One who is pure in discipline, virtuous, and upright, Possesses wisdom, and has a single lineage, Who, having heard, skillfully teaches, Is a person called a jewel." This is to explain the greatness of the guru's kindness. As it is said: "Even the summit of Mount Meru may fall, Though one thinks it will not fall, it will eventually fall, Having obtained the benefit through the guru's kindness, Though one thinks one will not be liberated, one will eventually be liberated." As it is said, just as a person on the summit of a mountain, though not wanting to fall, will eventually fall, so too, a disciple who has received the guru's kindness, though not wanting to be liberated, will eventually be liberated. So, here, the vajra descent, which is approximated by the raising of hairs and so on, is not taught as the pith instruction itself, because it is uncertain. It is uncertain because even a person oppressed by desire and sorrow and so on will see the raising of hairs and so on. From the perspective of the teachings, it cannot represent it either, because it is the cause of conceptual thought. Non-conceptual and conceptual are mutually contradictory, and if one teaches non-conceptual, it will be implicated in being accompanied by conceptual thought, for example, saying "You should not remember," but the prohibition itself is a kind of remembering and so on. If one closes one's eyes and meditates on suchness, one will not attain it thereby, because the very act of pervading is lost. Because suchness abides in one aspect, pervading moving and non-moving things. If it exists, then meditation is unnecessary. If it does not exist, then meditation is also useless. If the two parts are brought close together, contradictory dharmas will arise, therefore, that is not suitable for meditation. Therefore, what is the guru's kindness like? It is said: This great mantra vehicle is the four mudras taught by glorious Bodhicitta Vajra, of which three are means, and the last, the fourth, is the result. Among them, for the time being, entrusting any one of the action mudras and so on to the disciple, he will with it

Having experienced the co-emergent appearance and so forth, make the clear light manifest. Through examples and what arises from examples, with the reasoning of subject and nature, knowing that this Dharmakaya is the only one, abide in the realm of non-conceptualization. Arising from that, again, with diligence in wisdom, one should remain for a thousand kalpas. At the time of arising, in order to clarify that very suchness through the door taught by the teacher, one should speak accordingly, because that very suchness is self-arisen. Pointing out that very suchness is not generating, but is without fault. From the commentary on the Five Stages, called "Clarifying the Meaning of the Stages," the stage of Vajra Recitation is the first. The actual explanation of the Vajra Recitation stage.
